I like Doves a bit better, but never will hear them on a radio, just hope Chris Martin keeps hanging with Mac and doesn't go to the Darkside, Bono, your not my father! - --- Red wrote: > At 11:02 AM 3/17/03 +0000, you wrote: > > >am i the only person in the world who thinks > coldplay > >are shite?! > > I like 'Yellow' and maybe a song or two on > their first CD....but I haven't even played > it in ages, and frankly, can't remember what > the rest of the songs even sound like. They all looked like they'd taken 10 tabs of acid each. Then after a few songs I just thought, this isn't a gig it's theatre and I couldn't stand them any longer. PS. London is a fantastic city, probably the most cosmopolitan one in the world. PSS. Coldplay are a damned fine band. I think Chris Martin is a real breathe of fresh air with the enthusiasm he has for his music. He obviously has great taste and influence right? - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Amy Moseley Rupp And WTF is up with Polyphonic Spree in England? Do any of you lot actually LIKE that band and why? They leave me feeling like going on a Postal Spree and they're from DALLAS which I absolutely loathe. ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2003 06:12:22 -0600 (CST) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: seven-seas-moderated Re: seven-seas Polyphonic Spree > I went to see these lot a few weeks ago and was quite impressed to > start with, it's quite a different live experience. The acid reference is quite apt .... or Ecstasy, but little way MHO you could play like that.... classical instruments are harder to fudge than rock instruments or even vocals. Gotta hand it to that French horn player .... he's very good! It *was* theatre.... Jesus Christ Superstar without any plot or panache. - --Amy (who did not slag London or Coldplay directly -- only quoted some people on the first -- the second I think are overrated by Americans but am willing to give them a chance to do bigger things in future) ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2003 06:13:10 -0600 (CST) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: seven-seas-moderated Re: seven-seas SXSW night one > Sounds Glasto-esque Without any fucking fences, and decent loos! :-) ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2003 18:16:17 -0500 From: "David & Bernice Whiting" Subject: seven-seas-moderated Re: New Music - Sheila Divine My old friend and drummer, Jeff, just recently raved to me about Sheila Divine. I've been aware of them for quite a while, but I haven't picked up anything by them yet. I think I'm going to have to change that soon though. Personally, I'm quite fond of Interpol these days.
