Shepherds Bush Empire and Manchester Apollo are the only English dates, and they were released to subscribers of their website only at 8pm on Saturday night, with tickets on sale through themselves with immediate effect. Needless to say they sold out within hours, and are already on eBay for several hundred pounds. I suppose the moral of the story is "subscribe to their website", which is all well and good, but if you weren't online on Saturday evening (which I wasn't) you had no chance anyway. Bollocks, who cares? They're shite these days anyway. ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Mar 2003 11:24:38 -0000 From: "Steve Hodson" Subject: seven-seas-moderated RE: seven-seas coldplay > am i the only person in the world who thinks coldplay > are shite?! > > without a doubt they would have been on the end of > mac's scathing tongue had they been around in the > early 80's! > > [and that ''clocks'' song - U2 should sue for > plagiarism]. > > stevie g. I think they're shite to !! Cannot see the attraction to them or how they've actually won awards for the mediocre dirge's they churn out. Do you reckon Mac say's he likes them so much in the vain hope that the spotty little Coldplay fans will hear his name and think 'Cor if Coldplay like him he must be good, has he got an album out' -reflected glory and all. ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Mar 2003 11:33:28 -0000 From: matt.harkness@bt.com Subject: seven-seas-moderated RE: seven-seas coldplay > am i the only person in the world who thinks coldplay > are shite?! I've said it before and I'll say it again..... I bought Parachutes on the strength of Shiver and Yellow, which I still think are two good songs, but the rest of that album is shite. Its follow-up isn't much better either..... ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Mar 2003 06:54:24 -0500 From: Red Subject: seven-seas-moderated Re: seven-seas coldplay At 11:02 AM 3/17/03 +0000, you wrote: >am i the only person in the world who thinks coldplay >are shite?! By any chance was this broadcast or will it be broadcast anywhere for people to listen to? [and I mean the entire concert also] - - It sounds like a show worth hearing. _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. I don't know what it's like in the States, but over here the two main things that dictate whether or not a band succeeds commercially are the NME and the Radio One playlist. If you are a new band starting out, and you haven't got sufficient cash to line the pockets of the journos at the NME or the compilers who put together the playlist, then you're screwed. Maybe I'm just cynical, but that is how it appears to me. There is an absolute multitude of GOOD bands out there, who just aren't going to have any kind of success simply because they cannot afford to buy a front page feature on the NME or three minutes of airtime on Radio One. I suppose you could argue that if such a band really was that good then they would get recognised anyway, and that is possibly true in some cases. However, as a general rule, I don't think I'm too far wide of the mark. ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Mar 2003 08:56:29 -0500 From: "tony schinella" Subject: seven-seas-moderated Re: seven-seas coldplay I have friends who think they suck too. I happen to like them. Not a lot, but I do. I wouldn't pay a lot to see them. But with all the crap that is on radio, hearing a Coldplay song, is nice compared to the rest of the crap out there. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Red" To: Sent: Monday, March 17, 2003 6:54 AM Subject: Re: seven-seas coldplay > At 11:02 AM 3/17/03 +0000, you wrote: > > >am i the only person in the world who thinks coldplay > >are shite?! > > I like 'Yellow' and maybe a song or two on > their first CD....but I haven't even played > it in ages, and frankly, can't remember what > the rest of the songs even sound like.
