The cover mounted CD features a number of artists covering Lennon classics including Ian doing a version of 'Jealous Guy' with the rest of The Bunnymen lineup, sans Will. I'd love to tell you what it sounds like but I'm miles from home, none of the PCs here have soundcards and my headphone jack won't fit the CDROM drives. Frustration defined. (The Icicle Works and Edwyn Collins also feature on the CD ; I appreciate there's a few fans these artists out there) If I get time over the weekend, I'll make the track available through WinMX for those who can't get their hands on it (Can you get UNCUT in the States ?). -- Barry. _______________________________________________________________________ Freeserve AnyTime, only #13.99 per month with one month's FREE trial! Having "acquired" the album, I have to say it is excellent. I'm not the best music reviewer there is, but I just wanted to say that if you're a fan of Urban Hymns-era Verve you will not be disappointed with this album. Songs such as Paradise and Lord I've Been Trying stand up alongside the best stuff he/they have done, and Buy It In Bottles is simply superb. Also, maybe it's just me, but the final song, Nature Is The Law, bears a striking resemblance to Fools Like Us.... ====================================== Choices! mailto:majordomo@smoe.org Subscribe/unsubscribe Seven-seas Seven-seas-moderated AND NOW: Seven-seas-chat ====================================== ====================================== Choices! mailto:majordomo@smoe.org Subscribe/unsubscribe Seven-seas Seven-seas-moderated Both available in digest form. ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Oct 2002 10:47:45 +0100 From: "Catastrophic Plan" Subject: seven-seas-moderated RE: seven-seas OT Plagiarism Nirvana weren't shy at ripping off others themselves. Listen to Eighties (Killing Joke) and Come As You Are I like that unreleased track that's gonna be released as a single. Listening to it last night just emphasised how many modern day bands Nirvana influenced. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of matt.harkness@bt.com Sent: 02 October 2002 09:24 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: seven-seas OT Plagiarism In a futile attempt to hang on to my fast-fading youth, I still watch Top of the Pops on a Friday evening.... This last week featured US Rockers Puddle Of Mudd performing a song called She Hates Me. Now, given how long, drawn-out and downright ugly it's all been, I have no idea who currently holds the copyright to Nirvana's tunes, but surely Ms Love or Messrs Grohl & Novoselic or whoever the hell it is should be suing the ass off of these boys.....what a blatant rip-off..... ====================================== Choices! mailto:majordomo@smoe.org Subscribe/unsubscribe Seven-seas Seven-seas-moderated AND NOW: Seven-seas-chat ====================================== ====================================== Choices! mailto:majordomo@smoe.org Subscribe/unsubscribe Seven-seas Seven-seas-moderated Both available in digest form. ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Oct 2002 10:56:29 +0100 From: "Catastrophic Plan" Subject: seven-seas-moderated RE: seven-seas OT Moby It was the Astoria. I left the gig during the encore and ran into Virgin Mega store just in time to watch Teddy score for us in the FA cup final. Good day all round - -----Original Message----- My memory is going, though! I know I've seen the Bunnies play the Astoria but not sure when. Was it the free midday gig which was televised for Japanese pay per view? ====================================== Choices! mailto:majordomo@smoe.org Subscribe/unsubscribe Seven-seas Seven-seas-moderated Both available in digest form. ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Oct 2002 09:17:39 -0400 From: "Zap" Subject: seven-seas-moderated RE: seven-seas -->UNCUT<-- I think uncut does make it over here, in barnes and noble type booksyores etc, But I believe it's missing the cd!!!!
