It was far from the best sounding gig I've ever been to, but it was easily the most memorable. Seriously, though - you could put the CD on or you could enjoy the "liveness" of a gig - depends in the end what you're after at the time.... Both are good in different ways. Here's this: Hey Seven Seas, Here's a bit of updated info. The Montreal and Toronto shows, scheduled for the 5th and 6th of July have been cancelled (sorry, eh!) and New York ha been moved up to the 5th, at Irving Plaza. Boston is on the 6th. The band will be appearing for a live set on air at KNNC in Austin, Texas prior to their appearnce at Liberty Lunch that night (and after an 1,800 mile drive!). They'll also be doing an in-store appearance at Wax 'N' Facts in Atlanta, Georgia on June 28th, but it's yet to be confirmed. Big things in store for New York City.... More to follow as it falls on us. humbly, Carl of SpiFFinG I *do* have the interview on tape and plan to transcribe it. - --Amy ====================================== Choices! mailto:majordomo@smoe.org Subscribe/unsubscribe Seven-seas Seven-seas-moderated Both available in digest form. ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Sep 2002 17:31:42 -0500 (CDT) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: seven-seas-moderated old archives? It can certainly sound live; as a matter of fact, Mac would sound a little more "record close" if their sound men would use a similar type of reverb/delay/doubling delay for their live shows. McCartney did'nt sound quite as smooth when you hear Beatle songs in early stages. That doubling really does smooth things out, as reverb and proper eq do as well. But... PLEASE limit the smoking, and at least drink water between beers! One of my all time fav bands and so underrated my most folk, I still think that " Hayfever" is one of the greatest singles ever released. Caught them last year at King Tut's in Glasgow where I had the weird experience of being sat between Franks sister Eddie Reader, his mum and aunts, that was a pretty wacky night.
