One of my co-workers earlier this week was asking me if I'd seen either of the Get Carter movies. The original movie was from the early '70s, starring Michael Caine. And a remake was done in '99 starring Stalone, and filmed in Seattle. I haven't seen either. My friend was explaining to me that the original had a great soundtrack, and was trying to track down a copy of it. We did some searching and found the following: http://shopping.yahoo.com/shop?d=product&id=1921302326&clink=dmmu-ks/get _car ter/ctx=mid:2,pid:1921302326,ppid:2,t:1,ht:,pos:0 I wasn't particularly interested in it, other than helping a friend track down some music, until I heard the 3rd track, 'Main Theme - Carter Takes A Train'. Of course I immediately recognized it as the intro music that the Bunnymen used for the tour last summer. I've always really liked the bass line that it has. And now I finally know where it came from! Anyone remember the song that was used on the second Eletrafixion tour when they came out for the first encore? I remember that the intro at the beginning of the show was the 'Teddy Bears Picnic'. At the time, some one on the list identified what it was. Anyone remember? Was that when they were using the theme from the old Robinson Crusoe TV show? Really liked that music. Nooo, and I just searched the house for my boot of that show. No dice. I *did* find the Ian interview that was on local radio... it's interesting to listen to these six years later. About the show... OMG, I was actually into the show an d not a perfectionist! I wrote about "Holy Grail": '... unfortunately the words are not very clear because Mac is concentrating on beauty of voice and not clarity, not to mention that someone yells out right before the song "you have no idea what you're saying" -- and that someone was right, at this point Mac was blotto though I don't think it hurt the performance other than slurry words. The FEELIN' was there.' And here's the dates; was this the first or second tour? Th 5/30 9:30 club, Washington, D.C.
