Subscribers to Ian's e-mail list have gotten an advance listen the last couple days, but I've now made the recording available via the frontpage of ianmcculloch.com - just follow the link on the right side which says "listen to the 25th july performance" Young Americans at the Panamerican Bar : 25th July 2002 This was the first of hopefully many 'happenings' held at The Panamerican Bar on Liverpool's Albert Dock. Ian McCulloch was host for the evening, dubbed "Young Americans", which included a screening of rare Andy Warhol footage from the Factory era, go-go dancers and a DJ set by Mani (of Primal Scream). House band for the evening: Ian McCulloch : vocals, rhythm guitar John Simm : guitar Ceri James : keyboards Simon Finley : drums Peter Wilkinson : bass Ian's currently recording his third solo album at the Doghouse Studio, Henley - On - Thames. His band for the recording sessions is nearly identical to that of 25 July, with Pete Byrne replacing John Simm on guitar. In November, Mac & co. intend to embark on a small "Evening with Ian McCulloch" tour of North America, playing less than ten 300-500 person venues. After that, he'll play a few of the same small-venue gigs through the UK and Europe. This recording is kind of a sneak preview of the tour. Enjoy. - --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
