If I remember. My point is, of the Bunnymen/Ian solo 12" vinyl that I own, I believe that one to provide the most variety and quality for the price. - --Amy ====================================== Choices! mailto:majordomo@smoe.org Subscribe/unsubscribe Seven-seas Seven-seas-moderated Both available in digest form. ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Sep 2002 01:23:04 -0700 (PDT) From: MarkE Moon Subject: seven-seas-moderated Value for money At the time of Efix I was still without a cd player and was still buying vinyl, so I bought the singles on 7 inch coloured vinyl for only 99p each when they came out. Bargain! Lowdown is red I seem to remember. Oh I LOVE coloured vinyl! I used to buy stuff just cos I liked the colour! Got that Food Fighters 1st single on glow in the dark 12 inch, and a Bjork album in pink. They are 2 of my faves. Mind you I still pout over losing my Red and Blue coloured vinyl Beatles album when an ex gf nicked off with em :-( Sigh.... Mark < . Yahoo! Hey Fintan! Nothing for ages then two posts in as many days! I know what you mean about Zephyr, but I plumped for Lowdown because it has THREE songs not on the album (yeah, I know it's a different version of Mirrorball on Zephyr, but it's still the same song at the end of the day!). And I agree about the b-sides... what an album that would've made! Burned, Rain On Me, Holy Grail, Land Of The Dying Sun, Razor's Edge, Not Of This World, Subway Train, Baseball Bill, maybe the Loose cover......and didn't Just A Touch Away start life as an E'fix song?.... As for the Nothing Lasts Forever b-sides, I've said before that I think that Watchtower is the best thing the Bunnymen have done since reforming (as the Bunnymen), but Lowdown still gets my vote as best value for money, because the NLF b-sides were spread across 2 CD singles and a 7" vinyl issue... ====================================== Choices! mailto:majordomo@smoe.org Subscribe/unsubscribe Seven-seas Seven-seas-moderated Both available in digest form. ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Sep 2002 07:07:37 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas-moderated Re: seven-seas Value for money At 10:21 PM 9/12/02 -0500, you wrote: >> extended remix of the song. However, there was a US promo 12-inch released (with a grey cover and black dancing horses) that contains the regular version and the extended version, but no other songs . I don't think there was another 12 inch released at that time, coz I was pretty much buying everything around that era. If there is one, I dunno about it. I can't imagine that I wouldn't have bought a US version if there were one, coz usually they're different. But I'll double check my collection to make sure it isn't hiding in a different place. Oh yeah...I like the original version of Bedbugs better too! ~Red ====================================== Choices! mailto:majordomo@smoe.org Subscribe/unsubscribe Seven-seas Seven-seas-moderated Both available in digest form. ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Sep 2002 04:24:43 -0700 (PDT) From: MarkE Moon Subject: seven-seas-moderated the soundtrack of our lives Great band! I got into them back in 96 after hearing 'Instant Repeater 99' and then Tim from the Charlatans was name dropping them around then too, and he usually has cool tastes, so I checked out the 1st album 'Welcome To The Infant Freebase'. Its a psychedelic masterpiece with Stones type riffs. If you see the Nuggets connection then the 1st album is way more like that. I never got the 2nd album, I didnt hear any press or anything about it when it came out. But the 3rd album, Behind The Music, is amazing! I've seen 'em twice this year, and they HAVE to be seen. When I caught them in a small club in Manc, the guitarist stuck his guitar in the ceiling (some tiles were missing), the drummer plays like Keith Moon :-) and the singer was at one point about 6 inches from my face, singing / screaming right at me! Then he made everyone sit on the floor...yes, he MADE us! He tried it at Leeds festival too, but it wasnt succesfull in the rain and mud lol Anyways, TSOOL are such a brilliant band. I met them at some signing and have a nice b&w photo on me wall :-) Catch em whenever you can. Mark PS. there was a single called 'Avenger Hill Street Blues'....check it out...AMAZING! . . Yahoo!
