Isn`t Ian Broudie involved anymore ? Jeepster lost Belle And Sebastian to Rough Trade. Cooking Vinyl is a fine label though. /Anders Ivan Smith skrev: > I'm surprised at the lack of comment on the Mac solo news... > > Also, you may have noticed that the album's to be released on Cooking > Vinyl. Ivan is right, however it must be pointed out that The Bunnymen's version sounds more like Morrison's version then Dylan. In fact, I think it was Morrison's version that inspired the Bunnymen to sing this song. I have noticed someone on this list making a reference to the Chocolate Watchtower (?) verison of "Baby Blue". Never heard of this band or version. What is this like? Is it 60's psychedelic or ssomething else? The 13th Floor Elevators covered ''... baby blue'' - it's available on the cd ''up on the 13th floor'' - a compilation of their stuff was released on Dressed to Kill records. Their version is quite slow with an odd approach to the vocals but it is excellent. I've created a real audio file of the track - Take a listen in real audio:- http://www.angelfire.lycos.com/amiga/12001/real/babyblue.rm but please find the album and buy it if you like it! stevie g. ====================================== Choices! mailto:majordomo@smoe.org Subscribe/unsubscribe Seven-seas Seven-seas-moderated Both available in digest form. ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Sep 2002 15:41:32 -0700 (PDT) From: Anne Gleeson Subject: Re: seven-seas-moderated first four album remasters? Sorry if I'm late jumping in on this - I've been away from the computer for a bit. I agree with Amy - I'd love to see the first four remastered. I've got the Bryan Ferry and David Bowie remasters and I think they're a marked improvement for the reasons that Amy mentioned - subtlties jump out at you more and so you hear the full grandeur of the recording.... I do have issues with putting them out at a high price point as I don't think fans should be gouged when re-buying their favourite bands' albums for the second time. But I'd be more than willing to buy them for a reasonable cost....
