I have a brother and as the years go by I find it harder and harder to shop for him when the holidays begin to role in... So for the past couple of years I have started buying him interesting gifts or rebuying him pieces of days gone by ;-) So anyway to cut to the chace... I was thinking this year I would attempt to score some of the old 120 minutes episodes for him... I started this quest all wide eyed and dull of enthusiasm. See I figured that some where on the net I would find a trading post of sorts for old 120 minutes shows.... Once again the spelling of assume rears it's ugly head and bites me... So anyway if you have not figured it out yet I was wonder if any of you have copies of the older episodes that you would be willing to copy for me if I sent the blank VHS... This is huge task but of would it make for a very merry christmas... See our dear sweet mother threw out all of our "blank" vhs tapes many moon ago and with them went our collection of 120 minutes.... If you are so kind as to help me with this request please contact me off list. Granted, it was a poorly kept secret, but a secret nonetheless. Yet Don Hill's has probably never been so suffocatingly packed (particularly at 7:00 in the evening) -- and by the next day everyone in New York was insisting that they'd been there and that they'd seen Johnny play. (You can tell a truly legendary event by the implausible amounts of people who maintain that THEY WERE THERE.) Of course, there's more to the story - the more being that Johnny's guitar skills were brilliantly on display, and EVERY SINGLE PERSON in actual attendance was utterly overwhelmed. The above is a preamble to this: Johnny Marr + the Healers are going to tour. Announced, promoted, and in full glory. Their debut full-length CD, Boomslang, is on the horizon (the release date is February 4, and it'll be on iMUSIC), and although you probably know all about Johnny Marr, the Healers include Zak Starkey (yes, that Zak Starkey) and Alonso Beavan (of Kula Shaker). The dates, as of this VERY moment, are as follows: January 18 Philadelphia, PA North Star January 20 Washington, DC Black Cat January 21 New York, NY Mercury Lounge January 22 New York, NY Mercury Lounge January 24 Boston, MA The Paradise January 26 Toronto, ONT Lee's Place January 28 Chicago, IL Double Door February 1 San Francisco, CA Bimbo's 365 Club February 3 Los Angeles, CA Troubador More dates will be announced shortly. Johnny Marr + The Healers will be joined by mellowdrone, the much-buzzed-about new artist whose EP, a demonstration of intellectual property, will be released on ARTISTdirect Records in mid-January. Following the US dates, the Healers will head to Australia, where they'll perform with Pearl Jam. ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Nov 2002 15:43:23 -0000 From: "Jon" Subject: seven-seas-moderated Re: seven-seas OT: BB mac-alikes > NME issue withe the Strokes on the cover?
