Sod all on the box tonight, so I was just watching Celebrity Big Brother. I was suddenly struck by the notion that Sue Perkins(comedienne, of Mel and Sue minor celeb fame) looks like Mac! Anyone else noticed the similarity, or have I had too many Stellas? I think REM did it more or less successfully with songs like "Country Feedback" and "Man On The Moon" along with others; but they are from the American South. I'm having a very hard time imagining Echo pulling it off. Though if I try *real* hard, I think of the guitar line in "Bedbugs" and it sounds *almost* Westernish and twangy. He's probably sat at home, right now, listening to the Electric Soft Parade thinking it's re-hased, indie bollocks which has been done a thousand times before in a thousand better ways....and he'd be right. - -- Barry. ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Nov 2002 08:58:53 -0000 From: "Barry Whiting" Subject: seven-seas-moderated Re: seven-seas Achey Breaky Ass - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Amy Moseley Rupp" > I think REM did it more or less successfully with songs like "Country > Feedback" and "Man On The Moon" along with others; but they are from > the American South. The whole of the WAYGTWYL would make an excellent country album. It follows the classic country blueprint. You know, songs from the heart, confessional, vulnerable...etc..etc I can hear it now. Anybody know where and when this was recorded. Clearly it was during the "Heaven Up Here" era. My set appears to be a numbered copy with #069. Was this a limited edition LP set? How many were manufactured? This set sounds much better than the obscure "Some Kind Of Meaning" LP and equal to the "Live In London May 1961" LP. Any other information regarding this LP would be greatly appreciated. Henry _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8. Henry -- I have a double vinyl version of this. No number on the vinyl nor the sleeve (although I suspect it's not the original). Apart from the track-listing, that's all I know about it. It's fairly rare (I've only ever come across a couple) but certainly not as difficult to track down as the "Some Kind Of Meaning" LP which I've never seen. - -- Barry. - -- Barry Whiting barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Nov 2002 18:50:58 -0000 From: "Martyn White" Subject: seven-seas-moderated RE: seven-seas What's Up Doc? / Live In The Carrot Patch You should have said last time you stayed over, Barry.
