I think this has been mentioned before, Martie. Certainly, there was prime-time footage of the Brockster being chased up a tree by a rhino on some 'extreme wildlife' show last year... Anyone been watching Sky TV's rather dire 'Football Years' ??? Mac's a regular contributor, decked out in furcoat and shades, which is just about the classiest thing on the show. - -- Barry... - -- Barry Whiting barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Nov 2002 14:20:44 -0000 From: "Noose Boy" Subject: seven-seas-moderated mini-CLASH reunion So Chris says to me late Fri how do you fancy going to see Strummer late last Fri pm and I kinda said no cos I don't fully support the FBU on this one, bloody typical! See below - ----------------------- MICK JONES and JOE STRUMMER have staged mini-CLASH reunion at a charity show in LONDON. Strummer and the Mescaleros played a show for the Fire Brigades Union at London Acton Town Hall (November 15). The Fire Brigade in the UK are currently locked in a bitter pay dispute, and are undertaking a series of strikes in an attempt to increase their wages. At the show, Strummer, who also performs Clash songs during his set, was joined by Jones for an encore of the classic tracks 'Bankrobber', 'White Riot' and 'London's Burning'. NME.COM understands the pair haven't performed on the same stage since the mid-80s. An eyewitness told NME.COM: "It was like being taken back to the '70s. There were speakers from the Fire Brigades Union, and the Clash songs sounded timeless." The Clash are rumoured to be planning on reforming for a day, when they are inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in the US next March. ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Nov 2002 14:39:21 -0000 From: matt.harkness@bt.com Subject: seven-seas-moderated RE: seven-seas mini-CLASH reunion >At the show, Strummer, who also performs Clash songs during his set, >was joined by Jones for an encore of the classic tracks 'Bankrobber', >'White Riot' and 'London's Burning'. I heard about this too, and was nearly te,pted to go to the Sunday night gig in Bridgwater, but what's the chance of Mick Jones turning up at that one as well? >The Clash are rumoured to be planning on reforming for a day, when they >are inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in the US next March. And won't it just piss all over ALL the other re-unions?! They still owe them a bunch of records plus Topper's health. Anyway, they could pull it off, Strummer still has the piss and vinegar, but one day of reforming is better than nothing. Also wish they would record a farewell album to leave the bad taste of Cut the Crap. Yahoo!
