It's my guess that Will told Les about the award last Thursday, when he was over recording for the Glide album, and invited him along. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Martyn White" > Nothing against Peter, but I had hoped it might have signified a > bringing of > Les back into the fold. Buckley's a gifted writer, but I'm not hot on his vocal performance of the song. But oh God if I ever listen to Plant's cover again it'll be too soon. (hmmmmmm... have you noticed my strong opinions yet? ;-) ;-) ) My mom, she of the "I hate that song" ("Pale Blue Eyes" by the Velvets) REALLY hated Buckley's singing. I didn't bother with P(l)ant's. ;-) She was OK with Liz's but didn't like her vocal stylings at certain points.... "Iceblink Luck" was a bigger hit. (The PC is in the nominal study/guest room.) Screw the librarian, I met a fellow parent at my daughter's school who is in five bands, owns his own record label, and has a day job at a record store. Based upon his costume I told him I thought he looked like a cross between Kiss and Joey Ramone then wondered if he'd heard of the latter. He shot back "Joey Ramone is a cultural icon (whom) every American should be required to know." I literally jumped up and down! ;-) OK, if you were stuck on a desert island with ONLY THE CDs and not the artists, which would make you shoot yourself first, The Corrs or Sugababes? The latter's name reminds me of a good name for a rival chain to Hooter's.... - --Amy ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Oct 2002 11:14:33 -0500 (CDT) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: Re: seven-seas-moderated The Music > No, I didn't. I thought so, but then again, I was dead pissed and it was the second of the two songs in which the artist has more freedom. Could NOT tell you which song unless I were to go listen to more of them... but I did one-up my cosmopolitan brother by knowing who they were... - --Amy ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Oct 2002 18:46:17 +0100 From: freaks@dafunkbase.freeserve.co.uk Subject: seven-seas-moderated re:- '''Star Trek convention in my hotel'' ivan - did will pop in? i seem to remember in early 80's interviews, will admitted to be somewhat of an afficianado regarding start trek! stevie g. ====================================== The Official Seven-Seas Web Page. www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Oct 2002 10:52:17 -0700 From: "Ivan" Subject: seven-seas-moderated Re: seven-seas re:- '''Star Trek convention in my hotel'' lol... honestly, I wasn't on 'the team' in 99...
