Not the Same. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 26 Sep 2001 15:58:19 -0500 From: "Erik Lyons" Subject: Just for kicks. We have dabbled a tad about which songs we like...so, just for fun and because I am extremely bored this afternoon...here is my order of favorites, subject to change next month. 1. Annie Waits...love the clap. 2. Fired...just groovy. makes me shake a leg (among other things) 3. Zak and Sara...more clapping. but difficult clapping. 4. Losing Lisa...Ben harmonizes with himself so well. 5. The Luckiest...obviously, a hit with the chicks, er, women in love. 6. Carrying Cathy...strings, lyrics, lyrics... 7. Fred Jones Part 2...hope I'm remembered; nice duet 8. The Ascent of Stan...who's the man? stan. I hate the man. 9. Gone...who's he talking about? I hear Frally singing! 10. Still Fighting It...I can get a roast beef combo for $3.99! this will move up the chart in time. 11. RTS...just heard it a lot; still fun! 12. Not the Same...The beginning, have to get through it, then the alien radio. Nice hear Robert is having parties. Now, that was fun. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Sep 2001 23:15:48 -0400 (EDT) From: barbi@sin.sloth.org Subject: Not the Same. Eric, your least favorite is my favorite. Everything fits perfectly in this song... to me it's about obsession... to where you're on the break of losing everything. The piano has that repetitive beat to it that you just can't shake, and then at the end he keeps saying "you're hangin on your hangin on..." It's perfect. You guys got me into Built to Spill. THANK YOU. I will be seeing them for the first time this weekend. With my b/f who is now getting into them. *smile*. So I want to tell you all to get The Tea Party album when it comes out. Or heck, just download some Tea Party. Does anyone on this list get "Much Music" on TV? If so, the video will be (over)played starting next week. The single is lullaby and it is very good. Amanda, why did you move to Japan? Ben's show. - - the opener, Citizen Cope, should rename to Citizen Dope. He wasn't all there and the audience knew it. - - I didn't realize how much the songs are like BFF songs till then. I liked everything. I was the only person I could see that knew any words. They were all BFF fans and yelled, "Ben's a f***'n ***hole" and all those inside jokes he;s heard a billion times. - - Unlike Anne's show, Ben talked somewhat. He told a joke during technical difficulties. The audience got snuzz to play some song about Tommy Lee. - - The bff songs sounded weird w/o the 5. But it was nice to hear the audience sing darren/robert parts. i didn't like when the whole band played Dumped b/c the drummer sounded too much like darren and the guitar didn't belong. in my opinion. - - Annie waits was good but i don't understand why you guys like that one so much. *smile* - - Zak and Sara was good. - - I missed BFF friends. I just had my b/f and he doesn't want to hear about inside jokes, you know.. ttyl barbi ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V4 #36 ********************************
