Erik, MUSIC: The Tea Party. You must buy! I would get "Transmission" first, and after you are addicted to that one, email me and I'll suggest another album by them. You may have to order online as an import. My workstation's hostname at IBM is bf5. I love austin. barbi ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 03 Jun 2001 19:59:43 From: "Courtney Knopf" Subject: Re: The Rockford Files V4 #12 >Not much going on in my life musically, either. Though I did just go to a >fantastic David Byrne show Monday night. Court-nay, I think he plays So. >Cal. this weekend. Make sure you go!!! i missed it, apparently. i think he played on Friday night, but i was busy trying to divide my time between parties. two shitty, one good. as far as what i'm listening to now... The new Travis is pretty boring. i wish they'd rock. The new Rufus Wainwright is fucking grandiose. I love that man. The Shirley Bassey remix record is so groovy, i can barely handle it -- it makes me wanna be a soul diva and run away to join the Basement Jaxx. Sigur Ros's record Agaetis Byrjun is really beautiful, and they were a big inspiration on Radiohead for Kid A. Amnesiac ... well, the first time i listened to it was after about 5 beers and very little sleep, so i was mostly comatose. but it kinds of sounds like the Kid A reject tracks. i think i need to hear it again to full asses my thoughts on it. the new Spain record is sooooo beautiful. i heart josh haden (son of charlie, brother of petra & rachel). quiet melodic pop records like this don't come around nearly enough. currently getting the most spins in my cd player is a live (soundboard) recording of Jeff Tweedy's solo show from march. holy god that guy rocks my socks off. the new wilco will kick arse. looking forward to the Old 97's in this very building next monday. hot diggity! it's for a taping of HBO's Reverb, so check your local listings starting in August when their new season starts. woo. meh. work sucks. x courtney _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V4 #14 ********************************
