Anne mentioned ConBENtion and I got all nostalgic. *sniff* Wild times those were. I'm so glad Anne shared her room that night. Matt and I would have been on the street... So much has happened! How different things are! I really enjoyed Robbie Fulks live. I don't remember it too well, but I did like it a lot. In fact, there's a lot about that evening I don't remember... Good thing I have the show on tape! Tina -- what's happening? Are you still around? Well? Still have cool pants? Just went to see "Before Night Falls" the other night -- Javier Bardem is the most incredible actor I have ever seen. If he doesn't win the Oscar, I'm wearing black for a week. The man is quite possibly a god. I have never seen a leading actor play such a real person, one that the director can give you the right to make objective opinions about. I'm very nostalgic for the mid-90's music scene right now. I have a 1996 Jayhawk Music Festival (Univ. of Kansas thing) poster to my left and it makes me sad that no one remembers these artists anymore... There were too many good ones at the same time! *sigh* Right now in/around the CD player: (I'm not very hip) Old 97's -- "Too Far to Care" Old 97's -- "Fight Songs" "Virtuosity" Soundtrack Self -- "Sophomore Jinx" The Bogmen "Life Begins at 40 Million" The Bogmen "Closed Captioned Radio" "Into the Woods" Soundtrack (I'm currently playing the Witch -- opens March 29th...) "Rushmore" Soundtrack Kurt Weill/Bertolt Brecht "Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny" Kurt Weill/Bertolt Brecht "Die Dreigroschenoper" So there's grad school coming... As of next semester, I'll be the one filling young minds with Nabokov and Kafka and Barthelme. Happiness is lending out books. Bliss is forcing people to buy books, read them, and talk about them with you. And wish me luck! I've got a play in the Tennessee Williams New Orleans One-Act Play Contest. Should find out any day.... Hoping all is well? Best to everybody... - -carrie ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V4 #6 *******************************
