SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Hear that? It's the sound of the rust being scraped off the Rockford Files! This week marks the return of Ben Folds Five. We've got the kickoff date of the tour in Hartford tonight, but even before that the band will be making a special appearance on Hartford's radio station WSAM. It's part of the show "The Bitching Hours with J.B." and will be broadcast live tonight starting at 6pm ET. Listeners around the world can check it out in realaudio at http://wsam.hartford.edu/. Other news....there is that Trackers appearance tomorrow, which is supposed to be televised live on the Oxygen Network from 4-6pm. BFF will be opening and closing the show with performances, as well as answering questions from the live studio audience some time in between. Does anybody actually get the channel so they can tape it? I've got to back John up on Pedro The Lion. I went to see them on Sunday night at the Knitting Factory in NYC and they were really great. I don't like the new album quite as much as It's Hard To Find A Friend, but all in all it is good, mellow listening with stellar lyrics. I caught some other great shows this weekend, including Probe! with Ultimate Fakebook (who ROCK, btw) at Mercury Lounge and the Loser's Lounge Tribute to Carole King at Fez. Lastly, I thought of this because of all the great press Markus got for Sinforosa on this list. For the last six months I have been working as Executive Producer for a record by a band called Tocar. We just finished tracking last week and now have about a month of mixing to go before we can get the album mastered. There is one song from the sessions available at www.mp3.com/tocar called "Candy" that I think you will all really dig. Check it out and let me know if we're headed in the right direction! All the best, and see you on tour, Leigh 13 ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V3 #35 ********************************
