I've described thier band, Foley (named after the Hardcore Icon Mick Foley,) as a Gothic form of Limp Biskit, which is oddly fitting. What >have you all been up to, Anne, Marcus, Elisabeth, >Courtney, the FL Erik, and everyone else who I >remember but whose names I can't type in right now. hey all. i've been doing amazingly well. if any of you have been able to tune into Soundbreak's beta site you'll know that all of our DJs are mental and i'm the only one there with good taste aside from the fair Marnie Castor. and that's just because she came from KCRW where they had a little taste-implant thingy embedded in her neck like on the X-Files. the rest of them are from commercial radio (KROQ! speeyack!) and don't seem to have the same sort of aversion to crap that i do. but moving right along, i know if you HAVE been listening (which i can't do on my slow-ass home computer), you've probably noticed a lot of repitions. which we ARE fixing. they're adding stuff to our music library every day. In fact yesterday I gave them, among other things, copies of the new Yo La Tengo, the Magnolia soundtrack, the Super Furry Animals and Beulah to be added. which pleases me greatly because it will mean that not all of my sets sound the same. it looks like we are officially flipping the switch for our "soft launch" at around 4pm on tuesday. so now we really will be broadcasting world-wide. i'm on this weekend from 2-6pm saturday and sunday and i'll br around to fill in the last two hours of Christian's show on tuesday from 5-7. whereupon i'm going to ditch the studio and head to our mini-launch party at Bar Marmont. word. to listen to beta site, go to http://www.soundbreak.com/dev/index.htm and on tuesday you'll just be able to go directly to http://www.soundbreak.com and listen to us getting drunk on a tuesday afternoon ;). plus there's a webcam, which is pretty high res, depending on your connection. so you know, you can see me in the studio picking my nose or trying to beat the crap out of Christian. in other news i saw The Beach last night. lame. it had its moments, but it would have been better with Ewan McGregor.
