That woke me up! My god, I can't believe what Ben did to | that song... | | Does anyone here know what i'm talking about with Ben's cover? Why didn't i buy | this BTS album way back when? I mean, I love BTS... and then Ben takes that | song and just... makes it a masterpiece of sadness, and ... power. Barbi, are you saying that you like the BFF cover of Twin Falls better than the original? Hmmm. I'll have to disagree with you on that one. Given, the studio version by Built To Spill might seem somewhat tame, but if you see them play it live it should give you a whole new respect for them. I'm dreaming of the day BFF and BTS tour together, and Doug Martsch joins Ben on stage (or vice versa) for a screaming version of Twin Falls. The song is actually pretty short, but Built To Spill almost always drags it out to new amazing heights live...with Martsch wailing away on guitar like it's all he was ever born to do. With Ben on the piano as well, I'm sure the combination would just be explosive! Oh, and Katie, thanks for the cool Beck review! Got my tickets to see him on Valentine's Day! And Elliott Smith the week after...ooh yeah! - - Leigh ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Jan 2000 18:13:26 PST From: "Elisabeth Donnelly" Subject: Elliott Smith Damm! Elliott Smith is touring! I have to go and weep openly! I am one excited young girly- February is going to be excellent, with Beck on the 11th (conviently before Valentines Day, ;) ;) ) and Elliott Smith the 24th- but my real questions relate to comedians: 1. Margaret Cho- is she the one I want? Is her show good? I do want to see it, I feel her, you know? 2. Eddie Izzard!!! I have never heard his comedy, but I have heard that he is brilliant, and lots of people have recommended him to me. And he's going to be in Boston come March 7th-11th!!! I am an excited girl. I also went sledding at the BC seminary, going at incredible speeds through wild icy snow, and it was wonderful! Time for coffee! I have a radio show this semester and it is called Dignan. If any of you are on the web on Saturday morning, 8-11am, feel free to listen. I think that this week I will feature lots of Massive Attack and Jon Spencer. And you all should listen to Courtney's show. I listened to it last night whilst studying for my Greek history quiz, and I definetly recieved an A. So Courtney's show is good for you. Yay! Excitable me! Waaay too many balls and bats in this email. ~Elisabeth ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V3 #12 ********************************
