And cd101 said they were a powerpop band >which made me excited to talk to STACY. I want that song. =-) I don't know about the band mentioned, but someday I'm going to post to the list some good powerpop links and a quickie definition of the genre. like my emo 101 lesson I did a year ago or so. =-) I'll let you in ona little secret. powerpop and emo are my 2 favorite genres, but the bands I like the most, my favorite bands and CDs are always bands that are stretching themselves, redefining genres, crossing lines, etc. Bands that defy a nice easy catagorical definition are always my favorites. And just thought I'd say hi and stuff. I made the most brilliant mix tape in the history of my life. Side A starts with BFF's Leather Jacket and ends with Hefner "Hymn for the Cigarette". Side B starts with Mercury Rev's song "Goddess on a Hiway" and ends with Darren Jessee's version of "The Magic that Holds the Sky Up from the Ground" Its perfect. "leather jacket" is the perfect way to start it all off, and hefner's song is a lovely ending, but it also works as a nice segue to Goddess on a Hiway. I had to put Darren Jessee last because his song is so amazing nothing can top it. Besides that, the mix tape is perfectly bookended by 2 Darren Jessee songs that are the perfect beginning and ending. And of course, if you put the cd on looped play, "Magic..." leads absolutely perfectly into "Leather Jacket." I put too much thought into things like mix tapes. I'm going to see Sandi tommrow, nyah, nyah nyah. =-) love you all, stacy What was best of all was the longing look you gave me... that longing look... More than enough to keep me fed all year. -XTC "Harvest Festival" *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Stacy Flatt 520.621.1111 stacyf@u.arizona.edu Assistant Director Eat to the Beat Concerts @ the U of Arizona http://www.u.arizona.edu/~stacyf Powerpop DJ extrodinaire!
