I was going to write right away from the show, but there were these 12 ninjas that jumped me, and while I was fighting them all off, one ripped my fishnet shirt, and I had to hunt him down to the ends of the Earth. ;) Anyway, the Columbus show was a great performance, but I have to agree with Barbi that there were too many people. Of course, too many people usually don't bother me, but this was nuts. I was decked out in all black and fishnet and leather, looking DEAD SEXY if I do say so myself. Oh yeah, and why oh why did no one warn me that Fleming was a red-headed musician? You KNOW I have a mortal weakness for red-heads! Ah well, the CD is mine, and I really loved the show. Train surprised the hell out of me. I knew they were a good band, but they threw down that night. I still love the look on the lead singers face when the entire crowd started singing the lyrics for him when he stopped. As for how I kept myself entertained, well, I was with my buddy Jester, and we're the Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra of Freaks when we're together. We ended up hitting on a couple girls (high schoolers, unfortunately, but fun was had by all) and just talking to everyone before the show started. I was feeling generous, so I absolved the entire crowd of their sins and told them to go out and commit more. I love being a ordained minister. ;) Now, for the Boys. When they started their set, you could tell they were dragging hard. It's not been an easy tour, and you can tell by looking in their eyes. (Oh yeah, my placing. I was about five feet from the bar, directly in front of Robert.) But, when they got into the groove and let the show get moving, they were the best that I've seen them. I even had to throw Robert a smoke. ;) The best surprise of the evening was when Shaun, Fleming's brother and the drummer for their band, broke up Redneck Past for a ol' fashioned country breakdown. I loved it, and the rest of the crowd did as well. I kept getting funny looks when I'd yell out "Patois!" like I was at a zydeco show, though. ;) Anyway, I had a blast. And remember, the party's at Sheryl's room, 514 at the Doubletree. ;) ERIC ___________________________________________________________________________ "If a tree falls... If a tree falls...
