I don't want anyone to think I am removing people, but I have to take care of these administrative duties this week. So please let them know, if you know them, that they need to fix their mailboxes. Appreciate any help anyone gives. - -Erik ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Jul 1999 09:17:10 PDT From: "Elisabeth Donnelly" Subject: Run Lola Run I thought this movie was going to knock my socks off, and it really didn't. That film and Austin POwers 2 both kind of sucked. Le sigh! Did anyone see Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels? Now THATs a good movie! Pure entertainment! Im very amped for Blair Witch even though Im scared of it. The very poster frightens me! People screaming in near darkness is very much a pyschological mindf*&!!@. I really think if I see the movie, I will be too affected by it. Im such a sucker for a horror film. That and a pianah playing musician. (ben, rufus, imogen heap) Or bike messengers, but that's just because its a very very sexy profession. Question-are Blur and Rufus touring (not together..), per chance? ~Elisabeth _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. 'Cause cheap is how I feel. Hey all! Howzitgoin, senors & senoritas? Keeping cool this summer, are we? Me? Well, I've been having a fine summer, thankyoukindlyforasking! My July 4th weekend was packed full of juicy goodness (BBQs, The Esplanade, Crane's Beach). And this past weekend I attended a wedding of a college friend out in western Mass. The weather was beautiful, the bride was gorgeous, the ceremony was heartwarming, the band was kicking, and a Good Time Was Had By All. (Plus, I snuck downstairs with a whole bunch of other wedding guests to see the US women win!) Hmmmmm... do I have any Bentent to impart? Nope. Well, I've been giving the s/t album a lot of play again... so I guess that's some Bentent, thar! Here's some other stuff getting play in my car... (Music, people... other MUSIC getting play in my car! Sheesh! all your minds are in the gutter, I swear!) *grin*: Cowboy Junkies: ???? My future sister-in-law left this CD in my car... and I couldn't even tell you which CJ album it is (it almost seems to be a greatest hits thing)... the songs seem to be a jumble of songs from other albums... and I can't find a matching set to what is on the CD in my car. (And I'm just too damn lazy to go downstairs, open my car up, and check the cover for the title.) Anyway. I'm really enjoying this CD... I knew their song "Sweet Jane" -- but that is about all I knew. I've been using this on my long commute into work -- it's got a very soothing feel to it. If you are not already a fan of the Junkies... you may want to check out their stuff if you are in the mood to be mellow & twangy... Mighty Mighty Bosstones: Live From the Middle East I got back from Seattle a couple of weeks ago at about 10 in the morning after taking a redeye flight home -- this was the first CD I slipped in the tray and it was just what I needed. I reminded me just how much I love Boston and the vicinity... Plus, there was the added benefit of not being able to fall asleep with this CD cranked in your car! With Dicky Barrett cauterizing your eardrums... you've really just gotta give in and getcha Throwdown Swerve on... Radiohead: The Bends This CD is rawking me right down to a nub these days. I'll be cruising along appreciating the driving rhythms -- when all of a sudden my mind'll delve into the intricate lyrics... then, as soon as I sit back to contemplate the meaning of life -- I'll get blown away by the layering on this masterpiece of a CD. I'm so in love with this CD.... David Garza: This Euphoria Absolutely Scrumpdillyicious. This is a great CD to listen to just before going out... it pumps me up every time! Sebadoh: The Sebadoh Another good one to get the blood pumping. I'll sometimes listen to this on the way to work to get myself going for the day. Welp. I have to eat my lunch now (Mmmmmmm... tuna melt!) so I'll shut my hole for a bit. But first: Where are ye, all ye oldfolk? Erik? Matthew? Em? T? San? Carrie? Tell me what is going on in your lives... your trials, your tribulations, your triumphs! Send me e-mail or post it all here. (something-something minds want to know!) Talk to you all latah! - -Anne P.S. Don't forget -- the Buffy season finale is on tomorrow night (tonight to all you digest readers)! Me, I'll be taping the Buffster and watching the All-Star game, I do believe... ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Jul 1999 16:58:41 EDT From: Eriklyons1@aol.com Subject: T n T n T Anne wants it, Anne ghets it. The phat skinny. Just an oxymoron 4 y'all. after watching patch adams, my wife told me to apply to med school. heh. that was a good one. I have no chemistry or biology background, none, to apply to that test taking monster, the MCAT. So that one went to the dogs. But the movie DID inspire me to find a passion in my life again, so like Anne says, I got that going for me. So look for me to be involved in a new career before Christmas, and I mean it, I swear. We are also getting ready to raise the stress levels in the family. Building a house. So anybody want advise, I'll have it in about 3 months. I have not listened to a BFF song in a long time. I am still hooked on Big Head's Live Monsters. But I think often about throwing the s/t in the car. The weather has cooled a bit, and I don't smell like I did last week.... that was an injection of humor. I am waiting, Anoop, for something from you....cm'on now, I answered the question FAIR and square. I am happy that Anne is having fun in the SUN. And how about those US women soccer players....they r so good. It is good stuff for sports and the good ole US of A. So, I bet Anne will be smoozing with all the bball guests in town the next couple of days. Say hi to sammy for me! One last thing. My softball team has been picked up by a sponsor for the Fall season. We will no longer be just the Dogs of Lust. We will now be: TEAM BK - Dogs of Lust. That is BK, as in BURGER KING. You betcha! I still can't believe it. So eric, are we still having real-life Zena experiences this summer? And can I have a hell-fecking-yah to the STUART LITTLE movie coming out in December?? Not animation. Computers and real mice. Oh man, this is going to be good. OH, by the way, Anne, "Right on!" is a phase that has been used by us midwesterners, specifically my friend, since he was born. So I think it originated here. The Blair Witch Project was made in 8 days. useless info, sorry. "I'll have 2 beers." "Then I'll have 2 beers."
