Those MA people are just no fun. I got equal amount of love and hate mail today. I deleted the hate mail. I have enough things to worry about in my life without bitter electronic mail, you know? Oh, and props for the Holy Grail quote. I went to see The Bogmen tonight at the Bowery Ballroom. They rocked my world. Never in my life have I been part of such a great crowd, with the exception of BFF this past week in DC or Pulp at Hammerstein. These people were just bouncing up and down entirely in unison in this mass hysteria of love, sex, and music. It was so intense. There were supermodels there too. :-) After the show I went to a party at Don Hill's with some friends and some people I met at the show. The band came too which made it extra cool. I shouldn't have gotten in, but I did and I drank a bit too much on a night that I was driving, but everything worked out. The club was kinda ratty, but they had nice service and good people there. They were playing all 80's music, which I love, and I danced an awful lot. This 26 year-old woman with whom I spent much of the evening found it necessary to repeatedly mention how the songs were all "before my time." Look, I KNOW my Duran Duran, okay? I'm not that young! It's now past 5:30 am and I have to be up for work in two hours. I think this calls for a little thing called SLEEP. Thanks for being such great people, my Fjordian friends! - - Leigh 13 (oh, Bentent...I heard Army on the radio on the way home. Yeah!) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 02 Jul 1999 02:57:24 -0700 From: Dig that crazy chick Subject: when you raise your pencil skirt like a veil before my eyes... i can't believe Leigh saw Pulp at the Hammerstien last year. GOD that makes me SO JEALOUS. argh! Pulp are one of the bands that have forsaken the west coast. i think jarvis is afraid that the sun will penetrate his ghostly pallor. *sigh* as Elisabeth was mentioning earlier this week... leelee sobieski. I can't stand her. she's like helem hunt's mini-me. it's creepy. but she talks like Jodie Foster, and generally annoys me. though i'm sure it's really just feeling inferior because i know *i* wasn't in a stanley kubrick film at 17. dammit. rufus rufus rufus... his tour dates baffle me. the night i'm planning on seeing him in seattle also happens to be the same night as Jon Spencer AND Morphine. yak. i can't take it, the indecision is driving me mad. Markus, any thoughts? Anne, i'm glad you had a smashing time in Portland, despite the rain. and that you got a chance to sample at least a few of the 4,000 microbrews that the city has to offer (and i'm actually not exaggerating that figure). oy, i should sleep or something. ~Courtney The Sultraness of Swing "I want to live in a world where I can spill!'
