I swear, this darn list is getting better and better. I feel so at home.... Eric, Courtney, Dan, Stacy, I dig Leather Jacket. It's a Jesse tune, and I'm convinced that anything Darren puts his pen to is, well...magic. It's not an instant-classic Ben Folds Five tune, but it IS a classic b-side, so take it for what it's worth. I guess I was happy to have ANY new b-sides at all for Messner, after we saw the same three or four songs recycled over and over for each single from WAEA. Courtney, yes, we're glad to have That 70's Show back, but I managed to spent the evening in court (boo!) so I didn't get to watch! Shall I allow you to continue stalking Topher Grace as I continue to try to "run into" Laura Prepon at the hair stylist? I swear, that autographed picture of her on the wall makes a $28 trim all the more worthwhile! Dan, don't let The Man get you down. CompUSA sure isn't Ben Folds Five, so that means you'll be in DC on Sunday. Suzy and I pretty much decided just to go there the day of the show, so all the happening will be pre- and post-show on Sunday. Again--to ANYONE who will be at DC, get in touch and come party with us! Jennifer, way to go telling those fools at the show what's up! Sometimes these jerks sneak their way into BFF shows, so you just have to put them in their place. I've discovered that usually there is a good number of hard core BFF fans there (especially up front)--so when you start to pick on the drunken frat boys (apologies to the cool drunken frat boys out there) you will usually have support from the rest of the crowd. I can deal them heckling Ben and the guys (BFF knows how to deal with it)...but when anybody gives Fleming a hard time--watch out! Ben Lee, yeah I like him as well. Even if his girlfriend is a bitch. I can't believe Frally came to the American shores...I mean she's approaching her due date, so I would think an eight-hour plane flight (or however long it is) isn't best for her right now. But what do I know, do I look like a doctor? Stacy, Joan of Arc is playing the Mercury Lounge in NYC on June 26! They'll be with Euphone and Weakling, neither of whom I know...but I think I'll check out the show. The new Sense Field album comes out soon! AND The Bogmen are playing the Bowery Ballroom June 30 and July 1. Count me in for those! Question: Do I spend $30 for Counting Crows and Gigolo Aunts? Both are bands I like...but thirty bucks is thirty bucks. It is now FIVE days until DC. SEVEN days until Worcester. EIGHT days until Providence. NINE days until Central Park! The Ben Folds Five Road Trip, Part IV, is fast approaching! Sometimes >these jerks sneak their way into BFF shows, so you just have to put them My first BFF concert was Feb 9, 1998. About 2 songs into it, Big Crazy Drunk Guy began dancing. He was maybe 3 or 4 people back from the stage, and center. Now, when Big Crazy Drunk Guy dances, its not just bobbing along to the music. He was wailing his arms around, pushing people outa his way, basically, being an ass. he started some commotion, and would you believe it, but a small fight ensued. Big Crazy Drunk Guy was taken outside, and the concert was made safe for all the rest of us. I am not really complaining about Big Crazy Drunk Guy though. I had been about 2 people back from the stage, and a little to the right side, but in the commotion that Big Crazy Drunk Guy created, i was somehow pushed right to the rail...front and center. I had a perfect veiew of everything except Ben's hands. >time--watch out! Ben Lee, yeah I like him as well. Even if his girlfriend >is a bitch. LOL Or can't act. Just my opionon! As for Ben Lee, I love him. Fantastic. >Stacy, Joan of Arc is playing the Mercury Lounge in NYC on June 26! They'll >be with Euphone and Weakling, neither of whom I know...but I think I'll WOW! Very cool!! Euphone is very neato. 2 guys from Chicago. Its drum n' bass experimental, almost avant garde jazz stuff. They opened for Joan of Arc when I saw them in NYC. Go go go!!! It will be a great show. >Question: Do I spend $30 for Counting Crows and Gigolo Aunts? Both are bands >I like...but thirty bucks is thirty bucks. Thats a really tough one. We can discuss it when I'm thesre cuz I might not be going out the 19th with my friend. stacy The best things in life don't make any sense -Odds "The Best Things" Stacy Lynn stacyf@u.arizona.edu http://www.u.arizona.edu/~stacyf icq: 7641939 ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Jun 1999 22:59:33 -0700 From: Jennifer Auletto Subject: Re: You think the Rockford Files is cool. >Ben Lee, yeah I like him as well. Jeez. >I dig Leather Jacket. It's a Jesse tune, and I'm >convinced that anything Darren puts his pen to is, >well...magic. Agreed agreed agreed! Leigh, we are going to be very good friends. Not to mention I am insanely jealous of your whole BFF road trip thingy. I hate you! Ack. Um, no, just kidding. Can you feel the love? :) So yeah, I guess I have nothing else relevant to say. I just don't want to get back to work. I'm supposed to be laying out the front page right now, but I felt the Ben vibes and knew there would be RF mail waiting for me. And of course there was. Yay! So here I sit. With two other copy editors giving me nasty looks and deadlines looming. I have to think of a headline for a bunch of pictures of the county FAIR, but no lines from the song of the same name pop out at me. I think "All is fair in love" is innapropriate. Unless we're talking about carney love. And in *that* case, don't get me started ... Off to the paper o' crap.
