Oh. My. God. Excuse me... excuse me, please... May I have everyone's attention? I have an announcement to make: I have a new second-favorite band. David Garza rocked my world last night. If he is in your area (they are opening for Three Fish*) you simply *must* go see him. He started with his slower ballads (Lost, Float Away) and then progressed up the rockin' ladder to songs like Discoball World, Slave & Glow in the Dark... finally capping the evening off with Kinder. Rocked me right down to a nub, he did. And MAN! His bassist? Can I just say... ess eee ecks ecks why. Tall, dark, groovin', big hands, rhythm... AND he looks like Xander from Buffy. So I am LOVIN' that. OK. I had grandiose plans to write a looooong e-mail, but unfortunately, I am getting kicked off my computer. So I will finish this up later... Later, all! - -Anne Dancing with the blissed out brothers... * Jeff Ament's band... I can't give you a review as we didn't stay because one of our group was sick. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. I saw David at the hatch shell last summer, and he rocked mightily, converting many fans. it was fun though, because he wasnt that well known and me and my friend caitlin alreadly had the cd, and we were geeking out and singing along and dancing, so when he signed our cds, he was "oh, i saw you guys dancing. you are lovely" Lovely! What a great compliment! His cds really great...swoony to a degree. I am fully glad that I won it. I have a question for those of ya'll not in the boston area. Because when I read the Boston Globe, they totally suck up to Harvard, in many articles. Is it like that in other newspapers? they write of it as if it is THE most glorious institution ever. but then again, i get that propaganda growing up in the shadow of cambridge. just curious. ~Elisabeth _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Oh My! Hey all! I'm back to continue some of my thoughts from earlier... Just to recap: David Garza is amazing. Go see him. Moving on... Looks like I will finally get to meet Markus in the flesh! I am travelling out to Portland, OR for a tradeshow (National PTA, in case anyone is keeping track) and I decided that Portland is close enough to Seattle to merit a little sidetrip. I am really looking forward to meeting our fjordian Seattlite! No word yet on whether Sinforosa has a gig the last weekend in June... but guess who does? Yep. David Garza just HAPPENS to be playing Portland and Seattle the weekend that I am out there. I think I can convince all things Markusian to go with me to the show(s). Personally, I think it is kismet. "Just what do you say is kismet, Anne?", you may ask. Well. I don't know. But damn it, I think there's some kismet in there somewhere... Oh, and btw... Markus has been deified. Just thought you'd like to know... Boston is a half a game ahead of the Yanks. The Cubs are a game behind Houston. Is this a great season or what??? 'Nuff said. Matthew! Where ARE you? I miss our Tribe/BoSox discussions... And, now... Ben. Personally, I enjoyed BFF on Leno last night. I was pleased that they played the 'album version' of Army -- the song lacks a certain oomph in the tamer radio version. And I kinda liked the suits... nothing new for Darren for this tour, certainly... but Ben and Robert are gettin' in the fashion groove, too, eh? Look out Joan Rivers! The addition of the Tonight Show Band horn section was tres cool, too... Eric: You are salivating over a single Anne? Well, honey... swing on by my bachelorette pad any time you choose! *grin* (Hail Eris.) Erik: Sorry... no-can-do on the Chicago ConBENtion reunion. I am going to be in the Poconos with my brothers and their spouses (or rather, a spouse and a spouse-to-be...). Next time, though... or y'all can travel out to Worcester/Providence to see me (and BFF)! *smile* Welp. Now I am REALLY out! Talk atcha all later... - -A. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Two things... I'm not sure who'll replace John Henson. But I am looking forward to whatever it is that he does next! Get some... indeed. Maybe you should try to replace him, Erik? Sounds like an idea to me! Courtney: I read in the paper that they are delaying the Buffy season ender to July or September. Since it involves a lot of death and destruction at a high school graduation... they didn't want to chance any copycat activities (after the CO and KY shootings). Frankly, while I am bummed to have to wait for the Duchess of Buffonia's graduation day (as Xander has been wont to call her)... I think that the WB is much deserving of praise for the way that they handled the pulling of the season ender and the episode where Buffy can read the thoughts of her fellow classmates. It is about time someone stepped up and said -- y'know what? The ratings aren't worth the possibile cost... My .02... Courtney, if you're coming, I'll try to find you and say hi. I CAN'T WAIT! I haven't seen them in over a year. Hopefully we'll find some way to meet the guys. I've never been to this venue so I don't know how tight security is or how willing they are to let people stick around after the show. Oh well. I now refer to TUBORM as SLORM. Anybody else read that article on the MA where some reporter referred to it as "The Secret Life of Reinhold Messner"? I wanna see The Spy Who Shagged me. I knew a kid named Austin Powers once.
