I think #162 was the best Rockford Files digest I ever got. I don't know why, but it was just so darn good! (Maybe it was Stacy's evil vomiting story. :-) Look! I have replies! (hopefully they haven't all been answered...) Hannah - You can see a marriage photo of Ben and Frally from the Adelaide Advertiser at Clare's site: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Vine/3381/stillmorepictures.html Stacy - I can't wait to see you! I went to mtv.com and the BFF article has top billing! Woo hoo! Now if they'd only play the video at a reasonable hour! Check it out: http://www.mtv.com/sendme.tin?page=/news/gallery/b/benfoldsfeature99.html Courtney - I tried emailing you crazy chicks like five times, every time my mail got bounced. "No such user" it said. Why? I don't know. But I can imagine that the entire state of California is on red alert with both you AND Ginger out on the town. It's a scary thought! :-) I went to see Star Wars again yesterday. Honestly, I think it was better the second time around. Natalie Portman...it's worth all the hype just for her, oh yes. AND, I heard Army in the theatre again! Now, this is Loews, which is owned by Sony, so it's not entirely surprising, but it was still really cool. They even have a little intro: "from their new album The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner, this is Ben Folds Five..." You should have seen the looks I got when I yelled out "Yes!!!" in the bathroom when it came on. Priceless. Today is a good day. I'm going with a bunch of friends to see FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE and OWSLEY!! Yes!! This is a dream combination. It's like, Ben Folds Five opening for the Led Zeppelin reunion. Well, to a smaller degree. But it is going to be DARN cool. To any of you going to the Koncert for Kosovo, you get BFF, FOW, and Jimmy Eat World! Rock! If you haven't yet gotten the Owsley CD, what's keeping you? He's a former Folds collaborater and an amazing songwriter. My pick for one of the top albums this year, for sure! Other sure-fire choices: Fountains of Wayne - Utopia Parkway, Built to Spill - Keep It Like A Secret, and Sponge - New Pop Sunday. Music is soooo good these days. I keep getting blown away on a daily basis by how many good tunes are out there. Keep the rock alive! - - Leigh 13 p.s. It's a scary thought! :-) Ginger has met almost the whole RF! =-) It seems that way anyway, she's always got RF's down in Chapel Hill with her and Sandi. How cool! I've met a decent share of you, which is very cool, and I'm gonna meet more this summer. woohoo! I'm so excited. > > >I went to see Star Wars again yesterday. That whole album is so good, not one dud song whatsosever. Fantastic. When will he come to Tucson???? *sigh* BTS - ohmygod that album is just so amazing. So far my top picks would be BTS, BFF, and Owsley. I'll include one more, but it didn't come out this year, I just found out about it this year. Its a local band called The Jennys and the CD is just pure amazing pop. WOW. Its like XTC meets the Refreshments meets The Grays meets Ben Folds Five. Jsut WOW. > >Music is soooo good these days. I keep getting blown away on a daily basis by >how many good tunes are out there. Keep the rock alive! now you know why this is all I want to do with my life. Sunday I went up to Phoenix for this concert. A Local band invited me up for their show, so I went. They are just fantastic. Its powerpop with that Arizona sound bands from here just can't seem to shake. Its a good thing I think, I really dig that particular...soemthing... that I can't really define. Anwyay, after the show, they gave me a buncha cds and tshirts and stuff, and then took me out to lunch. They are just so nice and I had a ton of fun. If anyone wants to know what they hear like, go to www.mp3.com and their band's name is The Naked Chollas. Such great hooks, wow. I love this band. ok, I guess thats enough outa me. stacy The best things in life don't make any sense -Odds "The Best Things" Stacy Lynn stacyf@u.arizona.edu http://www.u.arizona.edu/~stacyf icq: 7641939 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 May 1999 00:33:58 -0500 From: "Matty Jacobs" Subject: the providence show... okay, here is the deal. I would really like to go the providence show but, alas, I am in NY and I have no car. Train is very expensive and I cannot afford it. Is there anyone from NY who is planning on making this trip on June 23rd? If so, I am looking for a ride and I would appreciate it if you could help me out. Of course, you will be recompensated for gas money, etc. and I will come to you in the NY area. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
