I've been watching it and I think it's damn hilarious. but like Katie, i probably get more out of it by actually living here. that whole bit about Elliot Gould driving a Honda was *hilarious*. and all of the jokes about the Valley and i love that EVERYONE has a water bottle. it's funny cause it's true, yo. in other news KSCR's budget got cut in half by the retards at student senate. i'm out to put the smack down on them. did i mention the Rufus concert was great? i can't remember anymore. but it was lovely. ben lee opened and covered a liz phair song. whee! and i went to see the show with Janet, who is an old school friend of mine from the MA. she was on here for a split second, i think too. we had fun being bitchy to another MA-er we saw who we can't stand. we had our picture taken with Rufie and a lovely time was had by all. I'm going to catch Gomez & Mojave 3 on monday at the Whisky. i can't wait! the rep from Virgin records ROCKS. he's bringing my tickets to me personally on monday. i was late to class this morning because he was talking my ear off. we even touched on how much canadians rock (i.e. dave foley and tom green) and i helped him out with his 'In My Room' thing for CMJ to make sure he had enough indie cred. i may be smitten. i'll let you know. we're having a party on saturday night. Spring Fever is the theme *and* the drink. umm... buy the new Beulah CD because it rocks like a hurricane. gee, i wish Boeing would decide on exactly *when* Markus is coming down here... ~Courtney The Sultraness of Swing "I went to the Valley once, before I knew any better. Rock on. I just hope I get mad tips at work on saturday to pay for the cd and a haircut. And more shoes cuz I love shoes. And enough to still save some. Oy Vey. btw, remember my job crisis a few months back? Well, I got hired as a hostess at the same restaurant where I had my 1st job ever. I moved around to bussing ocasionally cuz I get more money, and then I started bugging mangment to make me a server. Finally they listened, and now I'm a server, and its fun, and it rocks. I make more money than I did as a busser, and the work is waaaay easier. Its even easier than hosting. I love it. Apartment hunting, went not so swell. I found the perfect plca, and put money down on it, but then my future roomy emailed me and it turns out he doesn't have as much money as he thought he did, so he can't afford it after all. *cries* Fleming and John vs Fountains of Wayne... wow, thats a really tough one. Flemming and John has Ben Folds Five on it, he produced as well as cowrote some tracks, and I think he might even appear on one of them. I love the CD, I think Fleming is a beautiful singer, and the music its self is alternatingly poppy, catchy, fun, and just plain beautiful. Fountains of Wayne's new one is a masterpiece of pop, much like their previous release. I haven't heard it as much as I've heard F&L but I love what I hear and its going to be hard not to buy it. I drank waaaay too much last night, and consequently, I have not taken off my sunglasses since 8:30 this morning. Oh man am I miserable. A night of fun and debouchery is not worth this, I must remember this on saturday night when I go to the anual KAMP party. As much as I love all of you on the east coast seeing all the shows, I am so jealous. man oh man I need to move out east. My voyage out east is going to be a bit different than origionally planned. I'm not going to Boston after all but I'll prolly be spending more time in Baltimore, Chapel Hill (Sandi et Ginger - Jason invited me to stay with him, so I'll prolly get to hang out with you!), NYC, and New Jersey. Then, i hear..."Well I thooought about the army..." and immediately, my head snapped to the TV set and i shushed everyone down. "Been thinkin a lot today..." Sure enough, it was a commercial for TUBORM! They played the highlights of the army video in the background while some woman was like "Ben Folds Five: The NEW Album! Featuring the new single, Army. Go get it April 27th" bla bla bla (can't remember everything). And then they showed the album cover and the woman said "Get the deluxe pack (or something) with a video too!" (Cue in a picture of the video tape). SO, BFF has a new commercial. I can't remember which network it was on...we were flipping back and forth from an Indians game and Comedy Central. Be on the lookout...it's a nice surprise. :) Oh yes, maybe this will benefit some of you. For those of you wondering about were to get the album pack that includes the video as well, there was a Best Buy logo in the corner of the screen when they were advertising the cd and video together. So, i'd suggest going to Best Buy if you want the video! Take care, Emily ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V2 #135 *********************************
