What a fun week we've had--it's been a mini RF convention having Jess and Emily from Hudson in town. We crazy girls hit the town Wednesday night to see Owsley, and thanks to my tip-off our favorite piano man was there b/c as you may or may not know, Ben was formerly in a little band with Bill Owsley called The Semantics. He played drums and apparently kicked so much arse that they decided Ringo Starr's son was the only person worth of replacing Ben. The Semantics kick ass and the big O seemed duly impressed when, thanks to That Dork Jeff and the cds he loaned Sandi, we told him he were glad he played an old TS song. Oh yeah, we also went to dinner with Joe Caparo, my and Sandi's soon-to-be roomie, then hung out with 2/3 of Gladhands at the show, then went to the 506 with 1/3 of Gladhands and hung out with 1/3 of the Doleful Lions, 1/4 of the band Athenaeum, and some guy from some name-changing band who doesn't like me very much. >> Hey hey hey, It's Emily from Hudson. :) Here's a poem: i made up this little rhyme to tell about the time i got to hang in Chapel Hill with some people on the bill <---(that's like...you know, bands are on a bill, etc...) fractions of beloved bands shaking my very hands! and hanging with some sweet girls too hey Ginger and Sandi, that's you! and dinner with infamous Joe what a nice guy to know! even held the door and all a big thing for a guy so small <--(a joke!) going to a show at the Cat's Cradle i'd serve soup if i had a ladle <--(?) and Owsley really did a great show! he's cool too, as if you didn't know <--(check him out!) striped-shirt boy and tight-ass chick from Imperial Teen (that was sick) they didn't rock too much that night maybe they just needed a strobe light all in all i had great fun a very cool thing has been done i mean, come on, i met ben folds and that's a great story to be told hopefully i'll go to UNC (if a miracle happens and they accept me) if i did, i think it'd be so great and what a good thing to anticipate! Read the Shrub! Thanks and goodnight, Emily P.S. I'm not a writer :) ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V2 #115 *********************************
