Well, I had a few questions I was thinking about lately, one in particular, and I know they've been discussed before, but I thought i'd just rehash them for my own personal amusement. Lately, I've been listening to The Last Polka a lot, like i mean a lot, like it may be the only song i've heard in a while. This is very possible, i may have listened to other stuff by accident, but I've become very obsessed with this song. Anyways, here's my rehashed question: In the line "Well I hate that it's come to this, but baby i was doing fine. how do you think that i survived the other twenty five before you?" Twenty Five what? Years or women? I can't decide at all. Also, have you guys all checked out the RealVideo at http://www.bffweb.com They have this really cool thing called "Potty Mouth: A Video Portrait" and it's basically them just talking to a camera, it's about thirty minutes long, and it's tres cool, so if you haven't checked it out, go check it out. Umm, that's all, I'm gonna be up northeast for an undergraduate research conference one week before all the shows up there. damnit, Anoop ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Feb 1999 02:46:34 PST From: "Summer B" Subject: ..walking 'round the rainy city...what a pity there's things to do at home Yay! Stacy rocks cause she loves the Whitlams. and so does Tavia and Jordan for the same reasons. The whitlams are phunk-E...and so are quite a few other aussie bands. I would recommend Powderfinger's "Internationalist"...'tis a wonderous album. Mick Hart is also amazing...he sounds a little like Cordrazine*...who were also a great band (their keyboardist, Sam Holloway is now the fourth member of Silverchair). You should check out Cordrazine's final album titled "From Here To Wherever" Most aussies like Regurgitator...I personally don't like them, but some of you might. Their latest, "Unit" is supposedly excellent. And, a secret little aussie band called Lazy Susan. They just released their first EP called "Right On" and you can only get it if you live in Sydney, Aussieland, or by the mail (which is what I did). It's really really really good, and it only costs $10 aussie dosh. The band is also ready and willing to provide postage costs, but I'm not sure if that's applicable to non-australians. check out their website at: http://www.nowopen.com/lazysusan/ Ordering detals for "Right on" are there, along with audio files and the clip of their first video "Joan Baez". And no, I don't get any commission :P AND another ace aussie band is Custard...their latest album is my favourite..."We Have The Technology". Their website is at http://www.powerup.com.au/~custard Or, alternatively you could just go to my crappy website and click on the links link, and check out all the bands there. And sign the guestbook! http://members.xoom.com/SummerB/ Bentent? *Cordrazine were the support act for Our Boys on the Australian leg of the tour 3 years ago. and, the gal in the Joan Baez video clip (emma tom) is the wife of the lead singer/guitarist/drummer in Custard. it's a small land down here. Anyway, I chooooof, BYE!! ~Kel ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Feb 1999 07:20:19 PST From: "Markus Kamp" Subject: I Figured It Out! Only bad ones. I have never dated a guy on Vday. Never had a secret admireer. When I was a kid and traded Valentines, I was always the one that felt gyped. I'd buy great ones for all my friends and get dumb ones in return. When I got old enough that trading Valentines wasn't a part of classroom activities, and friends traded among themselves, I was the only one left out. When I got into HS and was finally part of the "cool kids" (Jr high was a miserable experience all around) I still nevr got a special valentine even though I would give special ones to my best friends. I haven't recieved a single Valentine since I've been in college. My parents always gave me a small gift, some chocolate, or a tape of a band I liked or soemthing... But they were my parents, I already knew I was special to them... This year, I won't even have that. I don't live at home, and I'd go home for the weekend except for the fact that my family is sick sick sick with the flu, and I refuse to go near there and catch it. Oh, and just in case you couldn't tell, I broke up with Rey. Yes, I broke up with him, but since I know he is reading, I'll spare the details and just say that it is for the best. Vday is just a day you are supposed to feel specail, and that has never been the case for me. I'll be quiet now. No one wants to hear about it. As long as I'm venting, Stacy Crash into my arms. I want you. You don't agree, but you don't refuse. Fellow Australian Fjordians (and other interested parties)...Ben Lee will be programming r-r-rage tonight, so set those VCR's! If anyone outside of da country would like a copy...I'm sure we could arrange a trade or something, and yes, I can copy it into NTSC format so you can actually watch it. If you don't know, when a guest programs rage, they choose their favourite videos, and at the end, all *their* clips are played. So yeah.
