Subject: by order. fl. erik, i have nothing to post! how about a mind flow post? coolies. a pity party. how the mind boggles at the possiblitities. in fact, towards that end, we have $100 worth of substances to use and abuse between 4 in 2 days at the weekend, and i get special dispensation, as i have no girlfriend, and they pity me. hence, i get first in. kick arse. i am going to get, how do you say, blasted? happy birthday, shaun. 17 today! does stacy play australian music on her show? yes. yes she does. kick arse. stacy is cool. ramstein are cool. trash tv. i have allowed myself to slip into it over the last couple of weeks, and am now avidly watching ally mcbeal and dawson's creek. i am soo sad. if you lived in australia, (or did what stacy did, and got a copy off me), you wouldn't need to hang out for ben lee. i've had it for a good 2 months. :P with dan on the truman affair. Carrey SHOULD have got a nomination, at least. that was up there with the best performances i've seen last year. Plus, knotice how many aussies are in the list of nominees? Cate Blanchett, Peter Weir, Geoffery Rush. damn, we gots the talent. legal drinking age is 18 in australia. and it's also assumed that if you are australian, you will be drinking beer from the keg at age, oh gee,... 4? heeheehee. i'm so going to be legal this year. those dates that anoop (the cool) posted, by the by, are from the offical page. kick arse. we have a tour on our hands, starting 3 days after my birthday. conBENshun will reconvene soon. school sucks. badly. i have done 13 hours of maths, and i'm not finished. but i did get an apology from the maths teacher. kickass. courtney, how are you so cool? i'm listening to your show right at this very instant. it's making me stay online. naughty courtney. i should go. but will i ? yes. but not without hugs and kisses, and screaming my defiance at the people who insist on dragging me out of my "communist holiday" withdrawal from society. damn them, i'm not going to be happy, going to be BITTER! allowed to. john said. Ben Folds Five at Amherst College, eh? And no one told me? Well, Anoop just did so I guess that is a fallacy right there! Can I just say how excited I am??? Markus -- here's your chance to check in with your old friend... come to Amherst for the concert! I'll be there! Sorry -- just bubbling over with excitement! - -Anne ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Feb 1999 08:43:58 -0500 From: Jessica Brandt Subject: never there God, i hate being waken up to the strains of catchy tunes. neeeeever there.... I agree with Court 100% that the Truman show is a tad bit overrated. I think people just think it's so breakthrough because Jim Carrey wasn't as jello-y as he normally is. If my baby Edward doesn't win for best actor, I'll just uhm....be mad. And If I don't see "Life is Beautiful" sometime soon, I just might....be even more mad. Why do people hate Valentines day so much? people bitch way too much for their own good. Sure, when you're a pathetic loser and don't have a date on Valentine's day (like me, every year) then it seems a bit frivilous...but just think of how awesome the day will be in the future when you have found that love!! Everyone read The Shrub. It's kinky. The bandwagon sure is full these days... But I'm kinda hopeful now, I guess, because I find that the weekend of the concerts is the start of spring break for me. Brunswick ME is out of the question. That's a bit of a stretch with classes ending that day. However, Amherst and Harrisburg are definitely possible. I've got to arrange a means of getting there of course; perhaps I can catch a cheap plane or something. I'd love to be able to make it to Amherst, ride down with someone who's going to Harrisburg as well, and then go up to Syracuse from there. (I've found that the cheapest plane fare from Syracuse to Bradley International Airport is $280, and that ain't happening.) I could take my car, but I won't have a night license and I'd have to be a terror on wheels to get there, not that me taking the Dodge and heading to Mass. would be well-accepted...hey. what about a college visit? Woohoo...a plan! OK. It'd be swell if someone was coming up from Ohio or so...cut through NYS on I-90 and travel problems are solved. I'll say that preliminarily, if I'm going, I'll need some mode of accommodation...I'd like to know who else is thinking of making the trip so we can arrange something. I'd like to see both shows in a rare show of devotion to a band I haven't seen in a year. Again, don't take anything I'm saying as the truth, but it all seems very promising. But what if the shows are college-only? Eep. Time to sneak in! Actually, I already got 2 tickets--so I just have to find a date. Know anybody who's interested? :-) I know at least a half-dozen people heading to the Friday show (March 26) already so it should be a blast. Anyone else in the NYC area--come to the show!! Ginger - Much props to you for telling the virtues of Sloan! I wasn't sure whether or not I would go to the show on Tuesday, but after reading your reviews I decided I had to. I got to see them at Maxwell's in Hoboken NJ, which is probably one of the smallest clubs anywhere. They were totally ELECTRIC though and it was a ton of fun. The opening band Local Rabbits was very entertaining too. And sorry Markus, but I spent the $12 I was saving for Sinforosa on their CD. I was telling their guitarist how much I liked his playing, and he said to me, "are you going to put your money where your mouth is?" So I had to buy it, but I do like it a lot--it's a very cool album. The money goes to Markus next week, I swear! I went to the Sloan show alone but met a nice couple there. They asked me to come along to the show this Saturday at the Bowery, so I'll get a nice double-dose of good ol' Canadian pop. Then the big one one Sunday...is it legal to go see Ben Lee on Valentine's Day without a date? I guess it will have to be...unless I find somebody quick! Oh oh! One more thing--just let me do a little dance for the new BFF tour dates. Three shows all within driving distances at little colleges. Woo hoo! Will I see any of you there? - - Leigh 13 ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V2 #64 ********************************
