Okay, so it's an ugly gray morning, but it's relatively warm! I've gotten so tired of walking around like a Black version of Kenny that it was driving me nuts. Little difference, seeing as how I'm already nuts, but it was still annoying. Anyway, I still have yet to purchase Sinoforosa but I will as soon as my cash flow increases. Any chance of getting a free copy for my birthday? (Feb. 5th, in case you didn't know/wanted to know/didn't care.) tavia: Award yourself 30 cool points, just because you said you needed them, and actually used a term I coined. Now all you have to do is join the COF and have a JOYGASM or two. ;) I have to say that as much as I like Jon Stewart, Craiggers will always hold a special place in my heart. Jon has the deliveries and the demeanor, but there's nothing like your first. Anyway, that's all for now, folks. Now that I know its your birthday, well... Rushmore is finally released around my parts. (Im sick of reading interviews about the bloody movie...I just want to see it!) and I get to lead a sophomore retreat, which means no school, and telling these impressionable little 15 year olds to NOT do drugs and have wanton sex. Yay! But Im more looking forward to Rushmore, since Im probably going to force my best friend and the boy I want to go see it. Actually, that's going to be a good week...I have an interview with a college, too, and I may get to hang out in Boston all day as a result on Groundhog day and in a cute, I know you want me at your school kinda outfit. But thats three weeks into the future, dammit! Two exams left!!!!! Ill have a personality again!!!!!! ~Elisabeth ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. In the latest Entertainment Weekly, under the "Pop Culture 101" square they have a rundown of songs featured in ads. Here's what they have for our beloved RW: Spot: Gap's Holiday You Hear: Artful whining about New Year's Eve from a sideburned young pianist The Song: The old standard "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" sung by Rufus Wainright. Heh. "artful whining." Now, why hasn't anyone gotten started on a Rockford Files T-shirt?! Are we going to let the Armchair bungle that idea up? (kidding, all...I'm ON the Armchair.) Seriously, though, wouldn't that be cool? I'm not gonna do it, though. Too busy. Exams sap my will to live. It is the coolest thing I've come across in a long time. I ask for a request, and they usually play it within the half hour! I was listening tonight, and they played Elliot Smith (Baby Britian) and Belle and Sebastian (Boy With the Arab Strap) back to back, and I hadn't even put in a request! I requested BFF one night and they played "Philosophy"! The URL is www.woxy97x.com/broadcast.html. Go there, and start listening via RealPlayer. This radio station plays everything I'd ever want to hear, if I were a DJ and could play whatever I wanted to. I sent one of my patients, who is total care, back to his nursing home within 24 hrs! I'm feeling like the kick-ass social worker tonight, but I do still worry about the patient. He's not going to live long, and he will always get pneumonia as he can't get up and walk around. He can't even sit up, poor guy. But I pleased the doctors, and that's a good thing. I did talk to the patient's family, and they were glad to know what's going on with the patient, and they were so glad to know that he was going back to the nursing home today. A urinary tract infection is no reason for him to stay in the hospital. Like any of you care, but this is my life. This is what I deal with day to day, and it's so difficult that I hate to get up in the morning. It just about kills me to get up and get to work. But when I'm there, it's easier and I can do my job well. It's just the anxiety of what lays ahead each day that kills me. People's lives are at stake here, and I'm the one doing the facilitating! Way too much pressure for a person who can't even take care of a garden plant! But I'm getting the hang of this new job, and I have tons of support from my co-workers. They like my enthusiasm for the job, and they know I'll do anything they tell me to do, even if it's doing their work for them. Call me stupid, but I'm learning, and everything that I can do for someone else helps me to learn . Learning leads to less anxiety and equals a happpier Kristin in the end! Sorry for the non Bentent, but I do have my Mom taping the Conan broadcast for me. I love my Mom, expecially now that I haven't had to live in her house for over 10 years!
