I mean, he really does. And can I be the other resident Whitlams fan on this list? =-) And everybody MUST go out and buy Ben Lee's 3rd solo album when it is released in feb to the US. That being said... I hope everyone has/had/is having a wonderful Christmas. We celebrated early because I'll be at work all day tommorow. Then again, not all the presents arrived in time, and since I leave at like 5am on the 26th, I wont get to open them until jan 7th when I get back. Then again, Rey and my best friend Jess have presents waiting for me in NYC, so Christmas lasts many days this year. My big present... RAM for my computer!!!!!! Now I am up from 16 to 48!! Not bad. Its noticably better. Ok, still listening to this tape of Ben Lee and The Whitlams, and I am wondering why doens't Australian music make it to the states? Its waaay better than the crap on the radio. Ben Lee is getting famous in the US, but for most of the United States population, his claim to fame is being Doe-Eyed Claire Dane's beau. *sigh* Not to say not-so-nice things about one of my fave artists' girlfriend, but I don't care for her acting. She plays all parts the same. The same doe-eyed innocence. The same cocking-the-head-to-one-side-while-looking-perplexed-yet-innocent expression for every situation every character has. So, I don't even know if I will go back to Canyon Ranch. This guy Mike... he had worked there for years... started out as a busser, and became dinning room supervisor... I had known him for years, I really liked him. He even trained me. He quit/was fired. I'm not quite sure which. But he was not happy towards the end of his job there. I guess him and the head supervisor Chris had some irreconcilable differences. How sad. All the good people are leaving. I don't know if I want to go back there. I still have one more paycheck coming from CR, and between that and what I have in the bank, I'll be ok without a job for a little while, so I can afford to look for one. Keep an eye out to my webpage, I'll be changing it when I get back from NYC. Ok, I think you should all try and find The Whitlams. And I think I will end with that. I too carry on this subtlely tempting tradition of one present on Christmas Eve...I got a pillow. Yum. A pillow, unlike my current ones, which doesn't smell like a wet rat, I might add. Today's festivities consisted of my friend Mike and I carousing the mall and blowing $230, a huge buffet of loveliness (crab and cheese melba toast circles...yum), and the "A Christmas Story" marathon, which I STRONGLY urge you to watch on TNT right now until 8 pm tonight. A true classic. "Fa ra ra ra ra ra ra ra ra..." And I now go to bed, because Santa is "coming to bring presents". It's great being old and knowing better. Although sometimes you wish you were young and innocent... Feliz Navidad, says my chihuahua. Mrrow, says my cat. ~Dan Cohen ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Dec 1998 01:01:09 EST From: Sandibrady@aol.com Subject: Christmas time... My dad is so cute. I just realized (it's already 12:57am) that my dad was not staying up to watch tv WITH me, he was staying up waiting for me to go to bed so he could play Santa. hehe. Poor guy, he must be exhausted, but he didn't have the heart to tell me to go to bed and of course he couldn't fill up the stockings while I was in the room. hehe. So silly. Well, I hope y'all have wonderful holidays! I better get back to "The History of Rock N' Roll" on the Learning Channel. :) Damn good stuff. =me= ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V2 #16 ********************************
