No, Im lying. my first day as a GAP ho', and I enjoyed the retail, helping people out part of it. Altho' I had no freaking clue about what I was doing, so I felt stupid often. GAP myth #1(maybe cos Im a lowly holiday gap ho') They havent taught me how to properly fold!!!!!! Best part of the day-hearing "christmas time in tinsletown" by bbvd on the pa. here's my question-good christmas cds??? any recommendations??? my top 10 would look a lot like courtney's or even, spin magazine (weird when they echo your thoughts) so we wont go into that. But buy Rufus Wainwright's cd. I saw him Monday night. It was serendipitous. I was afraid that they'd boot my ass for being 17, but hell, I even got stamped! I couldve drank (if i did, but i dont) and lets see...I saw the soundcheck, got my cd signed, talked (geekily-i stress that) to rufus, and my spot was the front row, directly in front of his place on the keyboard (not piano!) which was awesome but i felt kind of insecure, too-he sees my mug right in front of him!-but wow, Rufus Wainwright is one of the best looking people ive ever seen. Hes so talented and he has this aura about him. Thank god hes gay. Its a nice, non threatining crush. I was thinking, do you think he could ever be massively radio famous? He's great- but I dont think he'll quite appeal to the teenyboppers, and in opposition to a bff show, there wasnt any pogoing or "dancing" it was more standing in place and occasionally swaying. I dont know. I can see him getting bigger, to like 1000 seat places, but-wait-male tori? now I am babbling, so if you understand what im attempting to say, good for you. I have to do biology and calculus and college applications. ~Elisabeth ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Oh! Here's my recommendation David (its dav-eeed) Garza-this euphoria. I won his cd actually, and its great! he fits into my male singer-songwriter thing, and his cd goes pretty well with elliott smith. mr garza sings songs about the ladies, and they're catchy and melodic and lyrically, some are pretty neat. hes been compared to elvis costello, which i can see, and his voice is great, and it can bounce around and its powerful and another comparison, which i can kind of see, would be jeff buckley, range wise. (not in angelic beautiful sounding wise) see? talented. I saw him playa free show. And it was high energy and really fun, altho' no one really knew who he was. and hes been on these tours with matchbox 20 and fastball, so i guess you could see how hes being marketed. good vibe cd- Dream With The Fishes Soundtrack so much good shit on there. ooh! I first noticed ben folds five when I was watching a glastonbury festival on tv and they played 'the last polka'(which still remains to be my fave song!) and I thought that I must have their cds! :) so I have now their 3 main albums (no fear of pop, yet) and a bootleg which totally rocks! I have an article on fear of pop that I'll type up sometime (when you read it, you'll notice that it's incredibly short and you'll probably think I'm real lazy for not typing it up now, but oh well. :)) so you all can read it! My favorite band is, you guessed it, Ben Folds Five. I sort of came across the band by accident.. in a way. I went to the music store to buy WAEA because I heard Battle on the radio and i thought it was really neato. So I picked up the self titled cd instead and reallllllly loved it. So of course I kept it and the next day went to the record store to pick up WAEA. interesting story eh? yeah i thought so. well, I got fear of pop the week it came out here in sunny Florida. I have been awaiting it since September or August.I listened to it, and after about 2 rounds I was addicted to it. I brought it to school so my friends in my band class could hear it and they all hated it. Twas depressing, but I love it anywayz.I love all Ben Folds Five songs!!!! well, I just wanted to say hey... it took up a little more space than i planned... but...
