Elizabeth: Mmmmmmm, catholic school girl uniform...... If I could figure out why that outfit works the way it does, I'm sure I could solve a whole metric shitload of problems in the male psyche. ;) One point I want to make for the nice guys out there: we're not as nice as you might think. I know it personally ticks me off when I see girls going out with "dangerous" guys who I could turn into a quivering, whimpering pile of flesh in about 10 seconds. ;) Wow, a whole year has gone by. I still remember being signed up for this list against my will, simply because I was one of the cool people who posted random and silly things on the MA. I haven't regretted it for a bit. Well, there was that time when our FL accidentally booted me off the list for no reason. I'm still waiting for my bottle of Jameson's 12 yr. old to make up for that mistake. ;) I just wanted to say, in all honesty and seriousness (well, as serious as I can ever be) that I love you guys. You bring smiles and chaos into my days, and that helps me get through it all. Thanks a ton. *sniffle sniffle* Now, let's all get drunk and have Naked Time! ;) ERIC ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Dec 1998 11:58:15 -0700 From: Stacy Lynn Subject: Green hearts don't mean anything At 01:47 AM 12/11/1998 -0800, Jordan W. wrote: >i love bee lee. this album is growing on me, and i >liked it to start with. yay for Australia. I wanna live in Australia!!! *sigh* Ben Lee is the greatest, I just love him. Jordan was always cool to begin with, but now he has extra-super-cool points in my book because he is the only person I've ever met that might like Ben Lee as much as I do. >dan, maybe one day the other half of the human race >will realise that you,i, anoop and eric, amongst >others are actually fairly decent catches. hope >springs eternal. and you still haven't told me what >the pit is.. I'm a girl, and I have to say, I don't understand why so many girls dig jerks. The only dating-related thing in a girl's psyche that I have ever really thought about is this... and perhaps this is also a major roadblock for all the great guys out there that dig great girls... Girls have this thing... were as soon as this great guy shows an interest in them, they drop him. Don't find him attractive anymore. Don't want to be near him. And this is why... well, its why they drop the guy that likes them, but I dohn't know why they do what they do... blah, that made no sense. bear with me. scenio - John likes Suzie. Suzie likes John. They start dating. Pretty soon, John falls head over heels for Suzie and gets her flowers. Or calls her on the phone more often, or tells her she is beautiful. All of a sudden, Suzie feels very weird about the situation. "whoa, john likes me. A lot. This is very weird." It continues, and then Suzie goes "oh my gosh, John is in love with me. There must be something wrong with him." and then, she doesn't ever want to see him again. Weird, no? Well, its how I used to be, and its how most girls that I know are like. Not sure what it is... but its weird. So, also, as sort of a holdover from this, girls that get over that will still hate clingy guys. (but I think anyone would really). People allude to the pit, and then don't share it..... I want in on this... >Court, happy b-day in advance! have a good one. yay for Courtney!! Happy bday from me too (we are starting early this year...) >stacy, i think it is two, as my digest says Volume >2....hey!!!! idea! is it slightly strange that Ben Discounting the volume 2 stuff because they couldn't start with a volume zero before it was a year old... I'm saying the RF is a year old... Its the RF's 1st bday... know what I mean? Its been around 1 year.... >would release an album titled Volume One just as we >put the first volume of the Files to bed? it's true... >Fear Of Pop is a tribute album to the Files! wow. he Ben knows us and loves us, this much is true! >loves us, he really loves us. and fastball are quite >good. Wow, maybe I can get extra-super-cool points cuz I know bands like the Regurgitator and stuff... See, one of my friends (whose name is Ben) is from Australia (he lives here now) and his goal in life is to make everyone know and love good Australian bands. He was immediatly impressed by me cuz not only did I already know mroe australian bands than the average american, but I like all kinds of different music... Ben rocks. You'd like him, Jordan. Plus I love haning out with him cuz his accent is so damn cool! Ok, thats all for me. For now. wel,l cept for this... 2 weeks from today, I will be out of a job. =-( I AM SO SAD!!!! but, cool thing, it pays to be friends with the guests, because when a high-profile guest stays there (read a guest who is friends with the owner of Canyon Ranch etc...) they say something, and it becomes law. A guest once said they never wanted to see green peppers on the salad bar ever again, and POOF, they have never been served since. Well, this one high-profile guest took a liking to me (and I'm not talkign about my producer-friend) and asked me how long I ahd been working here, etc, and it came up that I had to quit. Well, he told me, that if I come back and they won't give me my job back, find him, and talk to him, and he'll get it back for me. Guests rock. So many servers hate the guests, but dammit, if you hate them, then quit working there! The guests are the best part of the job. ok, thats really all. *what is bentent anyway?* stacy Day comes I wake, I wake with a hard heartache I go down to your place We sit and chat about New York... --Rufus Wainwright "Danny Boy" http://www.u.arizona.edu/~stacyf icq #7641939 ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Dec 1998 13:26:37 -0800 From: "Kamp, Marcus S" Subject: NC Benefit Album From the Squirrel Nut Zippers web site: "The Zippers are featured on a CD called The Garden Place; Songs by Our Friends. The only BF5 participant is Wee Darren who contributed a song called something like "The Magic That Holds Up The Ground" or something like that...anyway, it's a solo Darren song and it's really sweet. Sara Miller, me and Ginger listened to it at Borders when Sara was in town to see Jump with us. :) And it's on the jukebox at Hell. I'm going to say it again, because dammit, I'm feeling the love tonight. I have a whole mess of assorted holiday cards, bought at Big Lots, one of the unique features of the ghetto, for the princely sum of $3.99 and I will SEND ONE TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU! But...I need addresses. I have _some_, but not all, and dammit, I'm feeling witty. So if you're out there, and you'd like to receive real, authentic mail from me, give 'em away. The majority of the people on the Pit (note to Jordan: it's just another mailing list that Ginger runs) have given theirs, but I've only got three or four from the RFers. And I don't care if you're overseas, Tavia, Jordan, and maybe, hmm, Emily, trying to think of other foreigners...maybe Guillaume will show up on #benfoldsfive one of these nights again. He's really a fly homie who I haven't seen in a while. Eric: Nice guys can be huge lumps of man-meat when we need to. Take it from someone known as the Enforcer.
