You make it sound like it's a bad thing ;) Kate Anne Lyons is one of the cutest children i have every seen. thanks must go to fl for improving the gene pool. dan, it will all sort itself out very shortly. well, it did for me, anyhow. it's quite uncanny how similar our love lifes seem to be at times, but i've been through that period, and it all sorted itself out, eventually. she'll work out who her friends are. now, this is cool. "more things about Sandi than you would ever need to know for legitimate purposes". but seriously, this is the whole reason i love the files. you can do that. i would answer that survey, but i have decided to plead the fifth... buying birthday presents is a debacle. i have major problems buying decent presents for girls, and cash is *not* a good idea, from past experence. sigh. i guess i will have to trawl once more tommorrow. help me out, what is a cool present for 2 17 year old grrls? still searching for anyone remotely interested in bff around here. sigh. it's an uphill struggle. but the quest must go on! i need a haircut. I've only just realised, but couples shit me. this is irrespective of my position at the moment, as well, as i am involved, however loosely. I hope it's just a phase, and i'm not really becoming the person who resents others happiness. hmmm, getting cynical in my old age, arn't i. anne, i live in new england! but it's spring, what are you talking about? oops. wrong hemisphere. but i did once have an amazing experence with the world. we (me and a friend) were playing frisbee in the park, and all of a sudden this big storm came over. it was black as night, and behind it the sun was setting, so it was all pink, and green, and blue. it was stunning! i love* ginger :) Jordan *in a completely nonthreating and friendly way, mind you. love, as in the way i love all fjords. you see, love is such a interesting word, but enough on that. i love you guys, really. wow. this footnote thing makes me feel like terry pratchett :) "check out complainer by the bar, let's kick his ass and make him beg for more, let's line him up and make him scream and shout, and show him he's got nothing to complain about..." Katie McBride asks about one, but as far as most fjords are concerned, there is no need for one. We are fanatical on our own w/o the need of a monthly newsletter telling us what we know already. Of course, with all the inactivity of late of the men(boys) known as Ben's Folding Chairs Five, what good would a fan club be? Although, I think Anoop is working on a Fjordian newsletter, complete with a personals section for all the single fjords. I think me and Anne are the only married fjords. And I think I am the only fjord w/a kid! And of course, there will be a "Write a drunk-ass letter to the editor" section (which I am sure Sandi will horde). Ya know, I don't even hear Brick on the radio anymore. I heard Thick As A Brick twice this week though! I wrote a song last night called, "you're eatin' my chicken." My wife thinks I have *finally* fallen off the deep end. Spence, I need a little help on some of the melody. A little 80's pop sound, like Go West's sound. Remember them? Tip of the hat to Jordan for the Kate compliment. I think Befefefefe needs their own variety show. Yeah. some in your face bentent. - -fl ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Oct 1998 11:30:49 -0500 (EST) From: Ginger Nance Subject: how about some pink lemonade? ...it's just the shade of your lipstick, so hick i love it! In that nonthreatening, friendly way. :) So Sandi is in CA right now...lucky girl. Her new boy says he'll write a song about me--it's called "Ginger, the Old Navy Girl." I swear, I should be Old Navy's version of the Snapple Lady or something. I do so much for those people... Raise your hand if you've seen Chuck Folds before. So Ben got a bit razor happy and buzzed his hair. He and Chuck look even more like twins now that they've got the same hair. It's scary. I'm working on the entire Rockford Files Community dealie, I can't decide on a lot of stuff, but I'll probably work on it over thanksgiving and christmas and probably have it ready to rock for the new year. Guess who's going to see Belle And Sebastian tonight. Yup, that's right. I'm also meeting a girl in athens who has like 50 bff bootlegs. I'm gonna be like a kid in a candy store. Sara, look for me at the show, you'll probably have a better chance of spotting me, than me spotting you. New REM album. That makes me very happy. I'm off to get it right now. Today in my foundations of higher math class, we spent like thirty minutes deciding if love was reflexive, symmetric, or transitive. We decided it wasn't reflexive (you don't necessarily have to love yourself), definitely not symmetric (if you love someone, they don't have to love you back), and not transitive (if you love someone, and they love someone else, then you don't have to love the person they love). It's too bad, if all of those were true, then the world would be a much nicer place. Ginger - I've seen Chuck Folds. It was in Atlanta, if I recall correctly, you were there also, of course I didn't see you. It was really weird. Well, off to the music store. But, I do think love is reflexive. I think you do have to love yourself. If you don't love yourself, then really when you love someone, it isn't true love. Its like infatuation. Or its loving them for things you lack, and not because of who they are independtent of you. When you love yourself, loving others just happens naturally. And since you havelearned to love yourself, faults and all, you can love others even though they are not perfect, you know? Hey all! Ginger: Your Dream Annealysis for Your Reading Pleasure. Ummm... nothing much to worry about here, I wouldn't think. this seems to be a pretty straightforward "control" dream... others are telling you what to do, are trying to control your life (albeit they are very excited about the possibilities that your life holds!). There are lots of GOOD things about this though... 1.) Whoever it is that is doig the pushing... you seem to think that they genuinely care -- the manifestation in your dream is that your friends are pushing you to have er... ahh... *ahem* "relations" with another fjordian. But the fact is that they are excited and think that this is a good idea. 2.) It seems that the controllers/pushers are prepared to help you along with whateve rit is that they think that you should be doing... this is manifested in yoru dream by your friends handing you all sorts of fun stuff for you to incorporate into your wild happenings with Scott 3.) You do not seem threatened at all by the controlling actions... this is shown in your dream by the fact that you and Scott do not obey their explicit instructions, but rather you sit with him and try to figure out why it is that they are pushing you to achieve heights of fjordian ecstasy... or whatever. Of course, you may have just been censoring your dream for inclusion on our G-rated maillist!!! So it seems to me that this is a great dream... someone close to you may be interfering with your life... but... 1.) they mean well; 2.) they are willing to help you; and 3.) you are unphased by their actions and choose to focus on your own desires. The red herring in this dream is the red condom. Of course, on the other hand... red is the color of passion... so maybe you just aren't telling us something about you and Scott! = ) Other news: Anne's Halloween costume: Lhiannon Sidhe WAIT! That's a thread! And we haven't had an actual thread in so long! So what are YOU going to be for Halloween? (And btw, Happy New Year to all you pagans and Wiccans out there!) It's finally the long awaited "This Is Just A Modern Rock Song" EP ... can you believe it? OK, so i 'spose you want some proper details ... here goes: Belle & Sebastian release a new EP, as yet untitled on December 7th, 1998. The tracklisting will be (but not necessarily in this order) This Is Just A Modern Rock Song (*sigh*, i love this song ... aahhhhh) Slow Graffiti (from the soundtrack to The Acid House) The Gate (another Isobel composition + vocal) I Know Where The Summer Goes (lovely, lovely, lovely) It will be released on CD-single and 12" and Stuart is also thinking of doing a four-track 7" too. If you know anything about the UK charts, you'll know that this will be ineligible for the Singles Chart due to it being a four-track EP. Boo to the Business World indeed! Apparently Sarah is shooting a video for "...Modern Rock Song" but i should have more details about that when the band get back from the U.S. HOW EXCITING!!! I always said "...Modern Rock Song" was a wintry song let's hope it snows on December 7th. :) And now for the bad news ... Even though I know that the Toronto gig will not be rescheduled for definite, I really can't see the Philly gig being rescheduled this time around, unless it goes ahead tomorrow, Thursday 29/10. Stuart has to fly back to the UK on Tuesday 03/11 and they don't really have another spare date (except for Saturday 31/10), but as soon as i have news for definite, i promise to let you all know. Did anyone see the lovely 4-page spread in this month's Select? if you need any more info, just ask! cheers, (a very smiley) Katrina. - -- ************************************************************************ jeepster recordings ltd. - mailto:a-and-r@jeepster.co.uk 217 canalot, 222 kensal road, london, w10 5bn, uk phone - 0181 964 9432, fax - 0181 964 8600 http://www.jeepster.co.uk ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Oct 1998 19:10:04 EST From: jaedonely@juno.com Subject: La vida es competicion! Im not sure if Im going, probably, it will be karmic payback since I did not see him, in fact the bouncers were quite harsh, denying me entry to the blues explosion, last time. Hopefully I go-or at the least-hopefully the newspaper I intern for will interview him. Today I got outside for the first time in three weeks-it was glorious! I walked around Boston with my sister (who was here for a day-flying in from sweden, traveling around the US.) it was fun! I missed school! We went to Newbury St and the coolest store in the world with the nicest people woring there, Desana. Its a creative your own parfum store and it has the most beautiful vintage bead ourses, teapots, its just awesome. God! I have babbled!
