Happy (day late) birthday to our very own Elisabeth who turned the big 1-7 on tuesday. i'm so jealous that stacy gets to go to the CMJ festival. i've been bugging management at the station about going to it since the school year started. but NOOOOOO. The GM, the Electronic director and the music manager are going. and i think the program director may be going, but NOT ME. i just want to chill in NYC, go to all the panels, network, see some kickass shows, perhaps cavort with stacy and possibly catch a matinee of Cabaret. not gonna happen. bitter bitter bitter. i played Philosophy tonight on my show. man... my BFF hiatus has been good. because now when i listen, the music means more to me. i went to see Pleasantville tonight, and it was great. i definitely reccommend it. fantastic special effects. and my friend's roommate is a featured extra in it. random. very good. it opens friday along with Apt Pupil and Orgazmo. well, i just thought i'd post to let you all know i'm alive. i think the whole impersonal 'listen to my show' post doesn't really do it. and if you DID listen tonight, i must apologize as i was a bit off my game. i had to rush to get my stuff together after the movie and then i was in a generally bad mood and wasn't feeling very inspired about my set list. so woo 2 for tuesday. i probably won't be doing that for a long while. okay, it's f*ecking late. me go sleepies. ~Courtney The Sultraness of Swing "Oh, your father would *never* do that." ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Oct 1998 13:39:49 EDT From: F2G2@aol.com Subject: dionysian revelry. dec 4th through 6th. mail me if'n you want more info....... lurk lurk lurk. matthew "......it's gonna be a long, long, crazy-crazy night......." ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Oct 1998 14:32:37 -0400 (EDT) From: Ginger Nance Subject: Re: dionysian revelry. Lucy, I played "Electioneering" because you reminded me what a great song it is. Sandi, someone lifted our copy of "Spilt Milk" so alas, no Jellyfish. I think the new Jon Spencer Blues Explosion cd is so cool, it may make my head explode. *********************************************** Bobby Darin - Some Of These Days/More Nat King Cole - Too Marvelous For Words/L-O-V-E Chet Baker - Isn't It Romantic/My Funny Valentine Ella Fitzgerald - From This Moment On/The Very Thought Of You Sarah Vaughan - Nice Work If You Can Get It/Perdido Billie Holiday - Just One Of Those Things/The Man I Love Nina Simone - Since I Fell For You/Love Me Or Leave Me Indigo Swing - (Today's the Day) I'm Glad I'm Not Dead/Regular Joe BESO - The Guy I Met This Evening/The Best Things Happen....
