Some stores seem to carry older copies of the album. . .my brother got his copy summer of '97, and it's old school cool with all the talking and hidden track and everything. I got mine fall of '97, and it still has all the cool bits but is a different color than his, like the red or green is higher or something. Then there's a third color, which I assume is the new stripped down version. I've seen all three at my local circuit city, but that was a while back. Anyway, if you look at an independant place, maybe you can snag one of those middle batch copies. good luck. I caught the boys on Conan tonight by total accident. It made me realize how much I miss them! But I"m out of options, I can't physically handle another listening of any of the 3 cds or my one pathetic single or my mp3s. Tell Sony they've got to give me Fear of Pop, it's life or death. - -hannah _________________________________________ http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Cafe/1094/ your Ben Folds Five resource center online since 1997 _________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Fear of Pop was in my planner today; I had put it there before when I had first heard Sept. 15 as a release date. So sad when I couldn't make that trip to Newbury Comics! But here lies my real message: I had another bizarre BFF dream. Anne-alyses welcome. My friend Kristen is seeing someone new, and in my dream, I somehow found out that he was the manager for BFF(?). She had been talking about him and there were posts by Fjordians about the new management but somehow it didn't click until I saw an email he sent her and I realized that I was er..that it was him. (Freudian typo, I guess). So I followed him to Chicago where I tracked down Ben on a Chicago River cruise and stole a copy of Fear of Pop from him. Actually, that's a pretty transparent dream . Weird, strange, amazing problems... Heh. So I'm in health today and two new students come into my class...foreign exchange students. Not the ones you'd expect, either. First off we have Olivia. Now I know Olivia, who's from Poland, from Performing Arts class on Day 1. But I've never spoken to her. All that changes, though. She sits behind me, and right behind her is Kristen from Sweden. We do personality profiles together, the three of us, creating a ruckus and getting the teacher pissed at us. Oh, it's fun to be a troublemaker... Needless to say Olivia and Kristen are quite, um, well-endowed. Especially Olivia, who is a real piece of man-meat back in Poland, I'm sure. She doesn't have the infamous Julia eyes, but she's darn close. I spend 10 minutes explaining the meaning of "premature" to her. Now this is interesting. For starters, these two girls are almost as good-looking, and much more talkative, than Julia. But like I've said, the eyes on this girl turn me into a slobbering buffoon. Also, it seems that since I'm now hanging around with Julia, Hoasa, Olivia, Kristen, and the other Swede (there's something with Swedish exchange students and my school this year), Helena, I am rapidly turning into an exchange student guy. I wonder what my thing is with these girls. I mean, here I go from never having taken a single class with an exchange student to taking three with various ones! And for some reason, it is prerequisite that you be a supermodel to be an exchange student at my school. This frightens me a bit, since usually there are exchange student males, and they pair off and do the scene together. Now the girls here are all friends, it seems, since no one else can understand what the hell they're saying (I can mostly understand the ones I've conversed with), but does this really mean that they're going to play the English-speaking field? Does it not reflect highly on my social status that I chum with these girls? I mean, seriously. I really don't get it but they all seem to gravitate toward me. And what am I going to do about the woman who started it all? I can't translate German for beans and she doesn't talk to anyone besides Hoasa. I'd better say something tomorrow. I think I might be able to pressure Olivia, who's in Performing Arts anyway, to audition for the play Thursday. And then there's my three other possible women who speak English as well as I do (Katrina, Tricia, Amy)... For once in my life I'm surrounded by good-looking women at every turn. I don't know which way to go. I haven't been the luckiest chap with regard to love in the past, and I fear I could muck this situation up. What shall I do, where shall I go? Only time will tell...tomorrow is a big day on the Julia/Olivia front as I have classes with both of them. I think I'm cursing my chances at general popularity, but I really am hitting it off with these exchange students for whatever reason. They like me, I like them, case closed, or something. I really don't know. Puzzled, confused, yet oddly anticipating the next day of school, ~Dan "If I tell to my mother that I go out until six a.m., she's OK with that.
