Jump, Little Children is my newest obsession. And I read all of those old RFs, which made me realize how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Good Will Hunting soundtrack. And Elliot Smith is COMING TO ATLANTA! And Belle And Sebastian are coming to ATHENS!!!! And Jump is coming BACK on Saturday! Oh yay yay, glorious 4:30 in the morning! You know Anne, every time I hear the first verse of "Baker Street" now, I think of the day you made that post. I had NO IDEA that "Baker Street" was on that disc, and it stuck in my head until I finally bought the damn thing. And Elliot Smith? Oh yes. Good. It's lovely stuff. Unique. B&S on Tuesday! I've now blown my budget for the next THREE months. Oh sigh, sigh. But hey, BFF won't be back for a while! Oh crap...Barenaked Ladies. Oh well, they sold out anyway. :-) Ta! Not only am I writing to 3 lists at once (to save time), I also just took some Vicodin to soothe the pain of that pesky tooth I had yanked all those weeks ago. I'm getting a bit loopy/blurry as the minutes tick by. Well, tonight I finally got to see all the footage of the movie that we shot over spring break. for those of you who don't know, i have a friend who has a very rich aunt and she gave him a big chunk of money to make a movie. we (He, really) bought a 16mm camera and shot his short script. it was sort of like a John Woo movie meets Clueless. My roommate and I played best friends who also happened to be professional killers. it was silly, grueling adn a lot of fun. and i'll say it was a good learning experience, even though that sounds terribly cheesy. But eeks! seeing myself projected on a screen was a bit scary! There was one terrible scene when i'm half sitting/lying on a bed reading a book and my GOD, i've got like 5 chins!!! it was horrific. but all the stunt stuff turned out pretty well. teh scene where i actually DID get kicked in the head was the best looking one, ironically enough. sheesh, i had a fat bump on my head for a week after that. But it was too bad we didn't get to watch it with the sound (which has yet to be edited together) because apparently when i was doing a flip thing, i let out this Xena-esque shriek. Al, who was running the boom mic was like wincing in pain at the sound. it was like that commercial for FANatic where the girl is told that she gets to meet the Backstreet Boys and lets out that piercing yelp of joy. After we screened all the footage, we went to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory. I don't know WHAT it is about that place, but oh my god. every time we go there it's like we all go REEEALY insane for the duration of our stay. We then cruised Sunset. man, there are some icky looking punkasses driving REALY nice cars. We stopped at teh Virgin Megastore to look around and I saw one of the producers of "Who Knows What?" which amused me, And i FINALLY saw the V-Search Swing book! I LOVE teh picture of Tanya and Vise! Your kitchen is SOOOOOOOOOOO cute! I didn't get to look at it too closely, but next time I'm there I'm definitely going to buy it. this time i didn't have enough cash on me I also looked for a copy of the new Belle and Sebastian, but it was nowhere to be found. watch as I shake my fist in Dan's general direction. oh well. i'll try Penny Lane tommorrow. And yes, teh cover art IS quite nice. it's up on Jeepster's site. go see it at www.jeepster.co.uk/belleandsebastian Did i mention I got the new Elliot Smith CD last week and it rocks my world? well it does. Baby Britain is like the best pop single ever. LUCY: Yes, Seth Green is way short. My friend Erik kept telling me that he was uber-small, but when i actually saw him in person, i was all "eek! he's like 4'9"!" He and Jenna Von Oy should get together. she's really short too. she was in one of my film classes freshman year, which was very bizarre. so was the kid who played Data in "Goonies." okay, i'm starting to get double vision at this point. it's time for me to get some comatose shut-eye. ~Courtney The Sultraness of Swing "Now all night I'm going to be known as that girl who fell." ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 6 Sep 1998 05:20:40 -0700 (PDT) From: "Jordan W." Subject: refections on a weekend of happyness. Hey you crazy people! gotta love the weather! pissing down rain all day so we went canoeing down the swollen creek. now, canoeing is fun at the best of times but we went through the middle of town, and the creek was at least 1 block wide. we got strange looks and i got drowned. but, shiat, it was so much fun! i went and saw armageddon. now, i personally found this movie patently ridculous but it was cool, because i got to drink 3 double espressos before i went in and so i was hyped. i almost murdered a small child with a laser pointer though, man those thing annoy me. he got throw-ed out of the cinema for shining it in the eye of one of my friends. what a little bugger! i almost won a arcade Sega Rally machine. i dropped in in time for the last qualifying round and me and emily got the last two seats. we went the first course and qualified 2nd and 3rd. so in the final, there was 8 of us and it was a 3 lap dash and i was just about to pass the leader on the inside of the last curve and i got t-boned by emily! so i missed out by .03 of a second. grr. livid is so cool! i am organized finally, tickets, ride and accomadation are sorted! i am going to livid, i am going to livid.. (trails off into a serpent dance) where are you guys? i mean, i know im on the wrong side of the world, but you reckon that i could find someone on the entire freaking undernet! ahem. kathyrin, i hope that that novacaine hasn't worn off yet :) little kids who play magic are paying for 5 cd's this week. that's what i love about being a trendsetter (i'm smirking here). i am making $120 off 5 kids with a 6 card trade. i mean, i love these kids! they are so naive and, well, rich. so i am able to buy some albums. i'm finally getting "if you're feeling sinister" this week, it's taken like 2 months to order. oh well, i do live upside down. gimme some ideas people! i have money! pat rafter is going to win the US open. again. plus, apparently, he's very good looking, or so my sister says. so all you people watch him play. this boy is the best serve volleyer since.... i dunno. a long time. oh, did i mention that my tennis coach wants me in his Country Week team for tennis? grins all round, one week of tennis in sydney. plus it means that i am Good. :) I just heard a mass choir of Melodiuns! it was soo cool! those things kick my arse. i dunno, but i might have some really good news in the next week. plus it is going to be fine and dandy and 20C all week, and i am just happy. now all i need to do is have that news come in and i will be the amazingly happy one. i mean, really happy. haven't felt this good for years! i'm in love.... lah di dah....and all i need is a little luck. shouts out to all you fjordians in america, man does your president make it easy to write essays on morality. not only that, but you guys smell so good too. love and hugs.
