Had 5 phone interviews already so I will definitely not be hard up for a job when I get there. Have to interview in person with all 5 families early next week...the agency I work for seems more excited about my re-locating than I am, which is wonderful. Working under terms of a contract and everything. Gotta love it. :) That's all my news. Haven't even begun to pack...am going with what fits in my car and won't come back here until next month to move the rest. Smokers have invaded my current home: my grandfather and uncle are visiting and have already started smoking indoors, even though I'm allergic...and I'm sure I smell like a smoker, but right now it's not bothering me because I can't breath anyway. So I'm at work. Friday is my last day. Finally finished being an indentured servant...as opposed to what I was hired to be: a nanny. I better run...the mom just called from her 2nd nail appointment this week (and it's only Tuesday) to ask me to pick up her copy of Titanic RIGHT AWAY because she absolutely MUST have it when she gets home....the SECOND she gets home. Saw the Wallflowers Sunday night in concert...I drove forever to see the show and they only got to play about 45 minutes because Duncan Sheik is an asshole and decided to play at least 15 minutes longer than he was scheduled to play...so the headliners got the shaft. What a crock. At any rate...it was fun and although I'm sure many of you do not appreciate the Wallflowers, I have for 6 years, so fuck off! No nasty notes. :) Sandi PS. No nasty notes. :) Sandi-- That is so cool, finally someone else who has known and liked the wallflowers before their current album came out! about 5 years ago when I first heard them, I loved them, thought they were great, and then they kinda drifted out of the spot light until about a year ago. People used to think I was *crazy* when I talked about how I liked them back in HS! And God forbid, but we might reschedual the blink 182 concert. Oh boy. And um, the only BFF song I can play on the piano is missing the war. But my friend Jeff, when the whole Blink thing went down, we were cleaning up the dressing room which had a piano in it, and Jeff did a song for me. A parady of Brick (and he plays it damn good, and all by ear... I can't do that, I need to look at notes) and he changed the words to be about the Blink show getting canceled. Then Jeff went around and played a parady of a song for each of us. He did Rage, Pearl Jam, and for Jack, who owns the nation's largest Ska and Swing label (Courtney--I might intern with him! Ever hear of Hipster Daddy-O and the Hand Grenades? The New Monty Show?) Jeff played a little swing for Jack. Shit yeah, its cool, I'd love to intern for a label. And one as cool as Slimstyle would kick some major ass. I'm practically in. I know both Jack and Rusty (the owners) and Jack was in Rising Star when he was in college, and I am too (its just the club that brings concerts to campus at the UA), and Rusty was in KAMP, and of course, I am too. And thats all I have to say for now. I have class in 30 min. I did my homework last night. Oooooh Yeeeaaaaahhh stacy Cuz everyones my friend in New York City And evertything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty The streets are paved with diamonds And there's just so much to see But the best thing about New York City is you and me. --They Might Be Giants "New York City" http://www.u.arizona.edu/~stacyf icq #7641939 ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Sep 1998 12:07:57 -0500 From: luckybastard1@juno.com (Hannah B Kuhlmann) Subject: just call me shameless hey kids. . . 2 questions: have any of you seen this movie called Cannibal the Musical? I'm trying to get a copy without paying 70 dollars on the web (damn those sky high list prices!) Question number two goes like this. . .who wants a Sean Lennon cardboard flat poster thingee? It's about the size of a normal vinyl record, round of course, with two decorated sides. They both feature the magic marker Sean, smiling up and away. . .one side is white with brown and pink marker, the other is the orange and yellow Sean, same picture, different color. It is in perfect condition, I got it for 50 cents at the local record store *specifically* for all you fans on this list because I don't even listen to him, but who deserves this super fly poster more than RF-ers? nobody. Great logic, isn't it?! First I have to ask--has everyone run to their local record stores and bought Magazine by Jump, Little Children? If not, then why?!?! It rawks. :) Cathedrals is a mighty purty song. You may or may not notice, but I put my Tarheel to rest. When you meet people and tell them your name and the say "oh, the girl with the little foot-thingy," you realize that perhaps less is more after all. I feel boring, becaue I like good, simple old cheddar. Maybe Scott will let me stop at a roadside cheese place and buy some this weekend. Or not. Oh! There is a point to this! I saw that Whiskeytown is releasing a new album on the 29th. Does anyone know if this album will include any of the stuff Ben did with them a while back? I didn't see a release date for Fear of Pop, but was happy to see Belle and Sebastian listed first under 9/8. :) My roommate is obsessed with fried eggs and sex. Yes my lovelies, i am back in L.A. in a very big way! (look at me rhyming like that). sunday night I saw Indigo Swing (for what the 5th time?) at the palace with Lavay Smith and her Red hot Skillet Lickers. rwas FUN indeed, but i'm used to seeing indigo play 3 sets as opposed to the one that they played. but they did come out for 2 encores. one that included Scott Steen (from Royal Crown Revue) on Trumpet and Lavay on a duet with Johnny. Eddie Nichols and Vecchio Lepisto from RCR were also there, but didn't get on stage. i forgot how much i loved going to shows in L.A. you never know who's going to jam with who. Indigo are playign tonight at teh Hollywood atheltic club, but i'm not sure i can find anyone to go with. all my freinds seem to be Indigo-ed out. pansies. oh, and all you CUB fans !!! johnny Boyd, lead singer of indigo will be singing the national anthem on thursday the 10th before the game! tune in, i implore you! oh, those of you who watch My Generation (whether you've seen my episode or not), Lindsey, the girl who does all the announcing (as well as some contestant coordinating) called me up today and said that she's working on a pop culture quiz show at Comedy Central that she thought I'd be perfect for, so friday i'm going to the studios to shoot it. plus i get paid $20 for my time. i guess my 15 minutes aren't up after all. and who knows, maybe they'll have better prizes than MG did. i know flarking Rock and Roll Jeopardy does. not that I'm bitter or anything. it's not like i need a polar fleece in this awful 106 degree weather. boy it sure would be nice to win this time. bought the new Elliot Smith. LOVE it. it's so much more upbeat than what i was expecting. much more like his Heatmeister (or was it heatmeiser? i always get confused) days. New Belle and Sebastian on ONE WEEK!!! YAY!!! I called up SubPop today to order the Pernice Bros. and B&S was on low on my stereo and the guy at subpop and i had a long conversation about them. EAST COAST DATES...can someone tell me the plan? are we conveneing on NYC or Athens or what? i've been out of the IRC loop and might continue to be until the end of the week. i Subject: Difranco Unfortunately, Ticketmaster Online doesn't let you purchase tickets until 1 hour after the regularly scheduled time.
