I've been playing for bout 3 1/2 years, right now I'm focusing on Jazz because the whole Rock and Roll thing is frustrating. I'm goin into 11th grade... I played Dwarf with my band for the battle of the bands last year. I have a Les Paul, and here comes some Bentent.... If you play Jackson Cannery fingerpicking with an alternating bassline pattern, it rocks the house. it works with Battle as well, though the song just isn't the same without Robert's *doo-doo-doo-doo-doo* (the octave bassline) on the chorus. once again nonsensical sean ;) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Aug 1998 07:22:42 -0700 From: "Kamp, Marcus S" Subject: Bumbershoot's a Comin'! If ya dunno what Bumbershoot is, well you ain't in Seattle, now, is ya?! Check out the artist line up (http://www.bumbershoot.org/artists.html) & you'll wanna be here fer it. Sure, sure, no BFF (though they were invited...why do they insist on shunnin' me?!), but Dr. Didg, The Posies, Live, Sean Lennon, Morcheeba, Modest Mouse, Cracker, Harvey Danger (OK, feck them...but you might like 'em!), 3rd Eye Blind (see comments after Harvey Danger!), Steel Pulse, Lucky Dube, Let's Go Bowling, God Lives Underwater, Bio Ritmo, They Might Be Giants, Morphine, Joan Baez, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Screaming Trees, Michael Franti (my new idol!!!), Sunny Day Real Estate, Mark Eitzel, Burning Spear, Keb' Mo', Pete Droge, and Bonnie Raitt all in 1 weekend (Labor Day, so you've already got the vacation!!!) is definitely worth the price of a trip to the AMAZING Northwest & $32 for a 4-day pass!!! Get off your arse & come see me...I mean all these acts! BTW, just between you & me, the weather in Seattle is fantastic year round. We perpetuate the myth that it rains all the time to keep all the Californians from movin' here. Sure it rains a lot, but it's a light, wimpy rain. In the year and a half since I moved here from KC (talk about shitty weather!!!), I've not opened my umbrella (otherwise known as a bumbershoot...thus the name of the festival) once. Anyway, for those of you in/around KC, Bumbershoot is like Spiritfest, only big & entertaining! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Aug 1998 12:32:51 EDT From: Sandibrady@aol.com Subject: Re: The Rockford Files V1 #206 i am blonde. that is all my news. san ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Aug 1998 10:51:08 -0700 (PDT) From: Jon Richards Subject: yo hey everyone.
