Sounds like a password answer. Remember that show with celeb guests and the goal of reaching the finals where the pyramid was? I watched it. Oh yeah baby. I even think Dick (I am 500 years old) Clark hosted it. Well, what I have been meaning to write about was a CD I received via the mail the other day: Running from Anna. This is another NC band, and they know Chuck and Snuzz/BusStop gang. Maybe some of yas have heard them, but I would venture to guess that most haven't. I stumbled on to their webpage and listened to a music clip and decided, "what the hell," and ordered a CD from them. They have not a label, so you need to get a hold of them through their webpage or I can send you their Email addy. I like the CD and would put it up there, soundwise, to the Snuzz/BS stuff. Not real hi-tech recording, but nice. It took a solid 3 times through the CD to be hooked. It is a fun CD. I am not a world class music reviewer, I just know when I hear some good music. This is one of those times. And for $12 you get the CD and sticker! yahoo! He is very prompt about sending the CD. So I was pleased. Did anyone else catch the Brick video being popped? I missed it by 10 minutes. I was 2 busy w/family and Kate. Oh well, next time. I noticed Katie has left her Iluvrobs addy. What the hell is up wit tat? Anne is back. Glory B. Sweet honey. Oh mama! Jen having Kate ruined our date for that evening to go see Saving Pvt. Ryan. Damn babies....heh heh. I was away from work for a few days and all I have to say is this: being away has made me realize what a bunch of idiots I work with (save Tina). Will all of you pray for me that I will find another job soon. Thank you. I can feel the love. really. yes, there. nice. markus, don't get fresh. Speaking of M, how was WOMAD? I haven't been reading my MA's...anything fun happening there? Any BeFeFe sightings? Out of body experiences? Hot oil massages? And to wrap things up, here's something I am sure will cause a stir. I watched the "real" Jesse Camp segment last night. I have to admit, I will watch him with a new perspective. Maybe he isn't that stupid, just misunderstood. But, that could be MTV putting a spin on him. Who knows. All I know is this: when they announced him as the winner, didja ya'all catch the looks on the 2 grrls in the background? They were all "jilted-looking." They need to take a good look at themselves. That one Michigan grrl couldn't even talk. BTW, me and Kate had a little talk last night. She said she is PROUD to be a member of the RF militia and will cry to cause a diversion when needed. She also wanted me to thank all of you for all the happy-birthdays she received. She was quite overwhelmed. She is happy there are other Kate's and Anne's on the list (and 2 Lyons!!!) And, here fav person is Ben, although she thinks Darren is quite a cutie-pie (her exact words). She doesn't know, however, why Ben is afraid of pop. But her fav pop is Pepsi. She is all for hemp and likes fine wine of the merlot persuasion. She refuses to become a teeny-bopper. And finally, she thinks markus is quite the smart-ass, but thinks he is one cool dude anyway and can't wait until Sinforosa plays in the Midwest. Take care all! - -fl ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Aug 1998 14:30:49 -0600 From: "Erik C. Lyons" Subject: I ain't missin' dat shyte dis time....boo yah! Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 4, Brick will be re-popped for us luuuusers who missed it Saturday. Times: 3:30p c.s.t. and 1:30a (8/5) c.s.t. spinthebottle.com finally updated their schedule, which, by the way, doesn't always fit with vh1's line-up. I still can't believe I haven't heard anything about the episode. So, here's an idea for Ben to write about on the 1999 album. Since he just *loves* the Internet....he should pen a tune about all of us freak-o's on the MA and RF, and the love/hate relationship between the 2. It could follow the same kind of fun as a Steven or Uncle Walter.... here's a start: (Spencer, give me an intro and bassline) VERSE: those people on the screen we don't know their name think they know the scoop when we take a poop teenies and old-timers fighting it out about who's the biggest fan with the greatest tan CHORUS: digital warfare ain't it grand slamming on the keyboard with your left and right hands won't you get a life get your ass offline find your specialty and join reality and so on and so on....(yadda yadda, etc. etc., blah blah) I didn't insert the words Brick or Bitch, meaning the song will probably not reach *hit* status, but rather become a *cult* song. So now everyone sees what 4 hours of sleep each day will make the brain do. I have nothing else of interest. - -FL "was there bentent there?" "butofcourse!" This will be short and sweet. KATIE RAWKS! She really does. She rocks my face like outer space. ATLANTA RAWKS! It's the bestest city in the world, even if I can't find a damn thing there to save my life. Thank goodness Scott is patient and doesn't mind driving up and down the same stretch of highway four times. SARA RAWKS! She's the hostess with the mostest, even if she isn't a great waitress. :) Umm. I like BFF. I now have the songbook in my posession and will proceed to annoy the hell out of my family trying to emulate Mr. Folds' piano stylings. Oh yeah, and Sara didn't mention this, I don't know if anyone else has, but Ben wrote a tribute to Burt Bacharach in some magazine with really weird design that Scott likes. It was nifty. That's all, buh-bye for now! I don't know why ILuvRobS was deleted, I was bored with it. I was tired of it.. I wanted VatOfLard back. I have too many s/n's. Bentent? Bentent? Bentent? Laverne and Shirley's theme song is a definate for a cover. Have I said that already? - - Katie ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Aug 1998 20:17:46 -0500 From: "Thomas Kluis" Subject: kids these days... Congrats to our FL on his daughter. Who's taken the name Emaline for their next born? Minneapolis has been slow, missed the Wainwright/Lennon concert when they were in town. Sadly, the recent music scene has consisted of Janet Jackson and the Spice Girls (I shit you not both within 2 days of each other) Does anyone have a boot (of just about any show) I can trade 2 blanks for? (Or, I'll send a mixed tape or even the my last radio show) Covers: I think the boys could do a great version of Frampton's classic "Do you feel like we do?" Ben would somehow make the piano talk..... or even "Werewolves of London" by the Zevron guy. tk ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Aug 1998 20:57:50 -0500 From: Vamprrella Subject: Warning! Actual Bentent ahead!! Hey all, according to the TV Guide thing I was looking at on Yahoo!, it says that VH-1 is only airing three of the songs (OAD, Emaline, & Brick) that the boys recorded for Hard Rock Live. =( I've been lurking for quite awhile on here, and I just wanted to take the chance to share a bit of Bentent with y'all and introduce myself....so here goes. My name is Kristin (or Kris...whichever you perfer), I'm 16 years old, I am a girl (duh =P), I live in IL (Chicago area), and I think that BFF should cover that "Push The Little Daises" song by Ween. Heehee....anyway.. Congrats again, FL! =) Wishing you all a beautiful night and a wonderful day... Kristin, who thinks that Emaline is a swell name for a girl. ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V1 #203 *********************************
