FANatic is full of crap... they didn't even consider me which pisses me off, so I'm thinking, "Oh, Well".. Damn MTV morons... I don't think they know who a real fan of BFF is... I may have not made the cut, which is fine, but I'm sure there are some people who fit the bill better.. I wish someone in the Files wouldv'e made it.. :) Gotta go.. Howdy! It's been a helluva long time since I last posted, lucky for y'all, I guess. But, seeing as I saw Our Boys yesterday and on Friday, I just thought I'd tell ya 'bout it. So...for starters, I'd just love to say YAY and Thankya! to Paul for getting such ace seats (2nd row!!!) My bro taped the show, and it turned out really well..except for the fact that it only started to tape a few songs (SC&C) into the set 'cause he had the damn thing on pause. But it's great quality, nethertheless (is that a word?) Oh yeah, and he forgot to switch sides, so it's only 45 mins long. =-) If anyone out there taped it...can ya drop me a line phulease? Anyway, Paul, Julie, Anne (I think) and I hung around the front of the stage trying to get setlists (which Julie did. she got Darrens, the lucky bitch ;-p), Ben's used towels, drumsticks and other BeFeFe groovy stuff. Then my brother told me that we should wait at the Stage Door for them to come out...so I went with him. Meanwhile, while I'm waiting in the cold for Our Boys to come out...Paul and Julie got to go BACKSTAGE into their dressing rooms for photos and autographs and little chats! How lucky were they?!? Anyway, ummm...setlist in no particular order, but I'm sure other people will post it...:- Dr Pyser (This was first, duh) Battle Philosophy Selfless Cold and Composed (in order from now on) The Last Polka Emaline Geoff Harvey's Last night in town - complete with Geoff Harvey stuff which I shall tell you about later Chicken song (Fair) Brick Jackson Cannery Julianne OAD&200SF Underground sans intro (not in order from now on) Song For The Dumped ummmm....and more songs but I can't remember them... Encore:- Evaporated (!!!) Uncle Walter They didn't do any improv, though...but the Geoff Harvey thing made up for it. What happened was, my friend Bree brought along a Geoff Harvey vinyl to the concert, and while Ben was singing SLNIT, she chucked it up on stage. Ben picked it up and read out the linear notes and what Bree had written on Geoff's face "Geoff Harvey has not only been responsible for some of the greatest lies ever told, and some of the worst jokes, he's also (something...???) the mains of Australia in some of the finest movie music ever seen and heard on television over the past 25 years. We've had thousands of letters from people asking when geoff and the band from the Midday show are going to put out some of the best music on Vinyl and I'm glad to say it's finally happened........(wild applause) It was Geoff Harvey's laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast night in oooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn" Oh yeah, and Bree had made Geoff's pic say "You American Cunt" and some other stuff, which was damn funny. anyway, this post is already tooooooo long, so I shall depart, and leave you to your regular RF posters. later all, ~Kel aka SummerB ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 25 Jul 1998 19:52:40 PDT From: "That little voice inside your head" Subject: me again...more irrevelant bentent Our Boys played on this crap show here in the Land Of Oz called Hey Hey It's Saturday, and Ben wore this tee-shirt that had a picture of Geoff Harvey on it, and it said "Geoff Harvey Fan Club" on it. Man, did I laugh! And they also did an interview on Recovery, and Ben wore a pink fluffy cardigan...you know....with the fake fur around the neck and wrists, and a sparkly short black dress, Darren wore a short blonde curly wig and a scarf which made him look like he was a hippie or something...and Robert...hahaha, well, he wore a black suit, with a black wig and dark sunglasses. They did a little improv called "Living in a fantasy world" that had a little drum solo by D and a rap by R (all done on a tiny toy keyboard which only plays one note at a time). Anyway, it was a phunn-E interview, and if anyone wants a copy of it, and Hey Hey, and Recovery from last year where they played OAD, Underground, and another kick-ass interview, drop me a line and we could maybe arrange something. Thinking of a way to inculde Marcus in this post. Fianlly posting to the RF after my trip to Seattle. I would haev posted sooner, but my inbox was STUFFED to the gills with 400+ emails (that was in the duration of about 30 hours). My loose mail swing list is just sooooooo talkative. Anyway, Seattle was quite a bit of fun. I got to see my roomate, and hung out in the U-district and binged on CDs (yet again). I got Jeff Buckley, Tortoise, and padded my that dog. and Elvis Costello catalogs. I also hit a really great vintage store, but none of the clothes i tried on liked me nearly as much as I liked them. As marcus mentioned we met at the Sean Lennon/Rufus Wainwright show. He was every bit the smartass I expected. (and I mean that in the best way possible). And he gave me a copy of the Sinfo tape AND the prized Underground single (woo-woo! that was bentent!). The show itself was a whole lot of fun...aside from the fact that it was the hottest day of the year and we were standing in a small space that was packed with people. It was better than a steam room. I think I lost a few pounds (woohoo!). But Rufus put on a great show..too bad he got stuck with a synthesizer. But it was fun because it was his birthday and Sean came up to help out on "April Fools" and brought a big bunch of balloons up and we all sang happy birthday, which was fun and cute and all that. Then Sean played..his intro was sorta bizarre and very....Yoko inspired. But it was great fun..and YUKA was there! (Sean's girlfriend and Cibo Matto member AND producer of his album). And after the show i charmed a *very cute* rockabilly boy who worked at the club and he gave me a set list and a guitar pick. Oh, and on the train ride home to Portland, i was sitting next to a group of norweigans and one of the train attendants started chatting them up and he started talking about Fjord country and of course i thought of you all. and when I got home, what should I find on my coffee table, but an advance copy of the new SNZ album! All I have to say is that you all HAVE to go and get it when it comes out on August 4th. It's definitely a treat. And the album art is absolutely phenomenally cute (could we get a BIT more hyperbole in that sentence?). Allright my lovelies. I've taken up enough space for now.
