Anyway, I managed to listen to the Godzilla soundtrack today (esp. "Air"), and there's some really good stuff on there (Rage, Foo Fighters, Michael Penn, and as much as I hate to say it, the Puff Daddy/Jimmy Page Kashmir thang). I know plenty o' people have heard it live, but no one's mentioned the studio version. So when I read the credits to "Air," I noticed something that scares me quite a bit: "Produced by Brendan O'Brian." Hopefully that's just for this soundtrack, as I noticed he produced quite a few. But, being the easily upset/worried/scared BFF fanatic I am, found this to be disheartening, because the difference is noticeable. I only hope that the synths are just a Brendan O'Brian thang, cos I would DIE if Ben pulled an Elton John on us. I mean, the synths are a major part of the song, as compared to their minimal involvement on something like OAD or Fair. Brendan just doesn't have the same feel for capturing their sound that Caleb does. Don't get me wrong, Air's a great song, and I'm still gonna buy it for the boys, but y'know... So is there any word AT ALL on the 3rd album? rock on- - --- "Reality, it's not for me, and it makes me laugh..." -The Beach Boys, 1971 Join 18 million Eudora users by signing up for a free Eudora Web-Mail account at http://www.eudoramail.com ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V1 #124 *********************************
