Hello all.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sun, 3 May 1998 03:42:16 EDT From: F2G 2 Subject: went flyfishing. a couple of you might know me. i joined the armchair and then the files largely on the strength of 'brick,' ben folds five's single off their first album, 'whatever and ever amen.' but i just can't help it, i love them so. very recently i purchased naked baby photos and was amazed by the sheer versatility and shocking youthful antics of the boys. i am happy to have found a place within which to express myself about my love for their music and overall capabilities with like-minded folk. ginger, beware. robert has several restraining orders upon him for hanging out at universities' libraries late at night and around public restrooms in truckstops before daybreak. watch your back. and pepper spray. courtney. i am with you, sister. i have makeout dreams about ben folds all the time, except usually they take place in monty-pythonesque skits. some involve bagpipes. in the last one he kissed me first because i was tickling the top of his skull, nearing the bald spot. e-you missed matthew. busy busy, getting ready for summer school. back to the grind, i felt it necessary to purchase a day planner and drop the bomb at the workplace. "y'know the sixty hours a week i typically do?" "yes." "well, as soon as my 2 computer classes, my fencing (i'm so rusty. they'll kick my ass......)class and my piano class begin in a coupla weeks, you'll get me for twenty. maybe." i laugh inside as they squirm. overhear them speaking of hiring more people to fill my gaps left...... "oh, and i need june 1st of for show #8 w/beck. and four days for camping right before school." i chortled evilly then. "and may i have a cask ale now since i'm done today, having sold 1400 dollars for you in 11 hours?" (think small microbrewery/restaurant folks. think big money to them.....for one person to have done.) carrie. vegan? you miss out on the joys of all worms gummi? what, is it the gelatin? so sad, i sighed. anne. please stop being the emotional juggernaut of the files. man. you are soooooooooooooooooooo like a rampaging godzilla. "size does matter." smile. hannah. better off dead. much better than grifters. muuuuuuch better. i'm glad you liked the tape. tape 2 is a work in progress.......it has a fair amount of the london suede on it so far.....they match the mood of the day, for me at least. i think you shall like the sequel as well. brad does indeed rock. i misremember the name of the lead singer, but when we saw him live, he strolled onstage in this derby and a polo shirt. proceeds to pound out a couple of slower numbers, including their single off the recent album'interiors', "the day brings." then, he stands up from his keyboard, grabs the center mike and says: "let's fuck shit up!" (sans death-metal voice, sorry guys.) and they rocked. seriously....... a show with more intensity and just as much bluesy-rock as........a springsteen show i saw in my youth, 47 years ago. but i digress. see them if you can, preferably in a small club. verbow (yack!) opened for them. heh heh. verve and massive attack in detroit! did i mention my dream about necking with ben during a shoot for three's company? matthew ps. saved up all my posts over a timespan and expelled them in one violent outburst. hope i didn't piss any of you off badly. or whatever. anne-ask me about the mayday celebration and the 'living room of love.' ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 03 May 1998 19:19:31 -0400 From: Carrie Subject: Hello all.... >i joined the armchair and then the files largely on the strength of 'brick,' >ben folds five's single off their first album, 'whatever and ever amen.' >but i just can't help it, i love them so. Matthew, did I ever mention that you rule? >carrie. vegan? you miss out on the joys of all worms gummi? >what, is it the gelatin? >so sad, i sighed. Not vegan, just veg. Gotta watch my leftover-animal-bit intake. I do not miss out on ALL the joys of gummi worms... Heh heh... heh... hee.* Bentent -- uhhh.... uh... uhhh... Going to see them in 13 days!! *woo hoo!* (And trying desperately to go see Semisonic the 24th in StL!!!) The recently not-present, Carrie * - Of course, the gummi worms are less necessary these days. :-) ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V1 #108 *********************************
