I never said anything cos I posted too many times already :P I would say which part I liked the best and all that, but I am soooo tired. Damn I had an asthma attack this morning, been tired all day. Got plenty of sleep, and my mum wakes me up to tell me I have heaps of email. Then I couldn't go back to sleep, and IRC is not entertaining enough to keep me awake. grrrr My ICQ love of the week is out skating (he's a punk...soo...) and I'm babbling along not realizing what I was here for...what was it?? Oh look the internet decides to disconnect... I thought it was about time i had a webpage, so I went and got one, but not understanding half of it....I got one page, with one picture...plus a guestbook which hasn't been working all day...The picture is *my* bff pic that i took, them hanging out in front of the telly at Recovery TV show. So I suppose it's interesting to people for the first few seconds that they look at it....(here I go again babbling) so I guess I'll give you the URL and maybe the guest book will be working and you could sign it.....(please?) http:/www.angelfire.com/me/katefolds/ (katefolds being my IRC nick, not some weird obsession of how I wanna be kate....) Is this bentent? I suppose it is....geez I dunno. Ben's tent? hehehehe. Meg...is it possible that you're my long lost tiwn and I just don't know about it? I am *such* the smitten kitten for the goold old Johnny C (I might apply to intern at his production compnay next year). Everyone loves him. Seems like he comes up in conversation on every single list I am on...which begs the question Why isn't he a bigger star? I mean like $20M a picture kind of star..i don't get it. AND AND AND, I always swore up and down I would marry matthew Broderick too! Then that damn Sarah Jessica Parker had to come in and fuck it up. >Though I have been wrong before...for example, I thought for sure I'd >get into this special summer program at NYU that I applied to. >*ANNOYING BUZZER NOISE* Wrong. Okay, so *now* I'm really convinced..I got denied from NYU too -- and not just the summer program. I was the bitterest girl in the living room for a long ass time. Hmmm...BENtent. Oh, how I long for some good, ol' fashioned teeth kickin'! Wait a minute...suddenly I realize I don't know what the h*ll I'm talkin' 'bout! Oh, & I'm sure tonight's Files will have a jillion posts about this (hope you loose mailies enjoy it!!!), but I just have to state for the record that Better Off Dead is 1 a the classics! That, One Crazy Summer, & Say Anything are enshrined in the Markus Hall of Infamy!!! Hey, kids, who here is as happy as I am that Jesus is back in the form of ODB?! Thank God (or is that Puffy?) that He didn't come back as a Spice Girl. Then it would be a sin to yell "Jesus Spice" after dropping something on your foot! Instead, ODB has combined 2, 2, 2 Doobie Brothers' songs in 1...Jesus Is Just Alright and He's Takin' It To the Streets! Jesus is for tha childrens! I had a dream about BF5 again last night (2nd dream in a month - this is getting out of hand). The dream itself seemed to go on for ages but it was basically a repeat of the same thing over and over. Ben, Darren and Robert were all cavemen and I was the poor little cavewoman who was trying to look after them all. Darren and Robert were in the cave snoring their heads off and thoroughly annoying the #@&* out of me coz I could not wake them up and I needed them to collect some food. Anyway Ben then came back with this slab of meat (don't know what from) and said that we could cook it up and have it for our breakfast. I said, "that's great genius but we haven't invented fire yet!". Ben blew his top and said "Well at least I am trying - - not like those two slobs asleep on the floor". I stuck up for Darren and Robert and said that they were doing okay and I would get them to find some food we COULD eat as soon as they woke up. Ben storms out. Anyway then Darren woke up and went out to get some food and came back with some nuts that we could not break open. I had a similar reaction as I did to Ben and Darren stormed out. Then Robert woke up and went out to find us something to drink and he brought back sea water and I told him we couldn't drink it unless we treated it and we didn't know how to treat it. Anyway, Robert did not storm out, he just accepted that and went to find us some drinkable water and then I woke up. But the really bizarre thing is that during the whole dream I was drinking coffee (a Betty Blue - you know the one's in the huge cups?) Anyway - what do you think? Oh and for the red freaks - no! none of them were wearing red - they were all wearing animal skin loin cloths. I was wearing a sort of coat made out of animal skin and I was freezing!! (I actually hopped up and put some clothes on when I woke up - serves me right for going to sleep with just my jocks on!) See ya Kate. PS and I did not have McDonalds before going to bed this time either. I actually had foccacia bread coz I ate as I was doing my Drafting assignment (drafting a mortgage - duller than duller) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Apr 1998 01:46:34 -0400 (EDT) From: Ginger Nance Subject: Duke show review! Howdy again, folks! Yes, it's two BFF shows in three days for me and I'm loving it since I'll see them two more times before the end of May. But anyway, on to the important stuff. This show rocked my face like outer space!!!! It was probably the best show I've seen, definitely right up there w/ the Cat's Cradle show in November. Here's the story: I went to Dook and met up with some people and then we headed down to the show. Shark Quest was the opening band...they weren't really anythi worth mentioning...except I do think their drummer is the same guy from Venus Fly Trap Girls (remember them?!). Once again the boys sounded great. Ben was sick, though, he said he'd gone to get a manicure and the sight of his cut nails made him pass out (he clipped a nail onstage while telling us this), but apparently he really did have to go to the hospital today b/c he passed out. Poor guy, he still managed to rock for 90 minutes, though. Okay, here's the set list: (oh yeah, it's not really in order or anything) Dr. Pyser, Battle, Philosophy, Selfless, Freebird, Missing the War, Fair, Steven's, Julianne, Brick, The Last Polka, Video, Song for the Dumped, One Angry Dwarf, Jackson Cannery (not as retired as we thought it was, I guess), a wonderful country jam with Your Cheatin' Heart, Take this Job and Shove it, and some song about his beer letting him down (I don't know the title), a song they made up about a guy who took Robert's friend's Scott's hat and then gave it back when Rob said something to the crowd about it, some jamming at the end of SFTD that I am affectionately dubbing the Robert Sledge Bow Bow Song (he was just going bah bow, bah bow bow bow bah bow, etc. and when it was over he said that he used to be in Phish :) ), and finally, the best moment of the night, I got to hear the debut of Air, from the Godzilla soundtrack!! It is a great tune, starts of ballady, then picks up speed, I loved it! There just isn't much more to say...the crowd was decent for a bunch of drunk undergrads, of course they all went crazy for Brick and SFTD and OAD got pretty decent reactions, too. I didn't get to talk to the guys after because they more or less fled. One of the guys I was with waited around and got to see Ben long enough to shake his hand, but I didn't worry about it. This show was simply incredible and best of all it was absolutely free, I had a great time and now I *REALLY* can't wait for Austin!
