So for all the sad, sad people like me who can't find the import, listening to the 30 second clip over and over is almost as good as the real thing! Yes! >> I have this song on a promo tape and on an import of "brick" if anyone wants me to tape it for em. :) I am so damn nice!!!!! Uh and maybe you have something I want. Mawhahahahahahahaha ( this was an evil laugh in case you hadn't noticed) and I'm also joking, but hey, maybe you do. ;) - -Lauren Oh duh, the song is The Japanese version of "song for the dumped" ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Apr 1998 00:50:14 +1000 From: "Julie 'anti-gavin' Hurst" Subject: [none] >BTW, the reason Chris Ballew from the Presidents might have gotten a wee >tad bit pissed @ questions about POTUSA is that they are no more. Yeah..I established that....I think I asked something about is he sick of being 'the guy from the presidents' obviously we know the answer. Actually he was a little i dunno, bitter about it. I heard that one of them supposedly slept with his wife. But anyhoo. I liked when Beck was on...he just kept going on and on and on..and Larry and that other guy (hey Larry Sanders isn't a regular show out here, so how am I to know??) were like "Does he ever stop?" For some reason I had this thing for Phil in it...I got through weird phases...but I saw him with no goatee, fixed me right up :) Loved the episode where Mary-Lou (is that her name??) gets a date with ex weezer dude Matt Sharp...made me run to the phone and ring my best friend. That wasn't too long ago, and I kept saying it's BFF's turn to be talked about :) And look what happened :) anyhoo...I gotta go and finish this damn essay on 'whether or not rainforests should be preserved or developed' or something like that :) - -Julie 'anti-gavin' "Is that the best you can do?? Just thought I'd get it in circulation the easiest way have to possible. And, um. . *that's more bentent than I think all my past posts had combined! It's a sad story though, and I can't really do anything. But with the tour starting and all, maybe. . . OK, now moving on to my final word on this baldness thing I seem to have instigated. (Now, keep in mind I'm being totally serious here, and I believe ALL of this next stuff firmly and with *all* my heart. . .heh heh. . ) - I already hate reading article after article where they compare Ben to Billy Joel and >gasp< Elton John and repeat the same "clever" observations a million times. I think I read somewhere that Ben never wears his glasses in public EVER -- probably to prevent Elton John comparisons. SO-- if Ben eventually goes bald, thrilling as that could be in its own special way, every friggin' Entertainment Weekly article about then will begin like this: "Roll Over Beethoven: The Pinball Wizard meets his match with spittin' image Yankee Ben Folds. The bespectacled, slightly scalp-impaired pianist, singer and songwriter has *avoided* comparisons with Elton John for most of his career, but now, after the release of their 5th album, their classic WEAEA going triple platinum this year and Folds' recent contribution of his cover of "Goodbye English Rose" to the "Diana Tribute Album II". . .well, comparisons between Folds and Elton John can hardly be avoided now. HA! This is what the __distant future__ could bring! Press coverage focusing on the appearances of musicians instead of their work! Articles then devoted to the (supposedly) derivative aspects of said musicians' work! oh. . .WAIT. . .** Well, at least they'll stop calling him a geek/sissy in 10 years or so. ? - -Hannah ;) ** please note the INTENSE sarcasm permeating this entire post. Now if only I could put these creative juices to work on some fan fiction. . . - ------------------------------------------ Hannah Kuhlmann - kuhl0025@tc.umn.edu **FLASHY BEN FOLDS FIVE WEBSITE** AT http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Cafe/1094/ - ------------------------------------------ "I don't like the sound of that sound." - -Heather Graham, Lost in Space ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Apr 1998 00:34:05 -0400 From: Amanda McClintock Subject: Sports & Wine Shonen Style Hello all you filers! I am in a rather good mood this evening... Not for any particular reason, just in a state of happiness. I have been thinking of what song I would love to hear the boys cover and frankly anything they would ever cover I am sure I would love. However, I was proud of the one thought I did have that I will now share with you. I was thinking of bands covereing BFF stuff, and I thought how perfect would it be for Shonen Knife to cover Sports and Wine... Now if you don't know Shonen Knife this won't make any sense, but for those of you who do I know that you must be laughing right now... I am writing Naoko a letter now to give them the idea, I mean Shonen Knife is from Japan and the boys did make a BIG impression over there!!! In general I would love to hear a BFF tribute album... Any Ideas for who should cover what?!?!?!? Take it Easy! Amanda McClintock-san "Can I have a tea please?
