I, too, noticed the father/son similarities between monsieurs Bacharach & Folds. Robert's ending & Darren's posture made me smile. Darren looked like he was in the Beatles, or somethin'. He should wear a suit more often! Sheryl Crow was terrible (surprise, surprise), Barenaked Ladies were great, & Dionne Warwick was downright scary! Wasn't she "Stripe", the evil Gremlin? Somebody put those nostrils away before they hurt somebody!!! The best part, however, had to be Darren & Ben makin' their moves on the British chicks (All Spice?) during the curtain call. Wonder if they got themselves any...uhh...bird after the show! I just found out that a friend of mine here @ work was standing RIGHT NEXT to me & Jason @ the free BFF show last summer @ Entros. Small world, indeed, but I still wouldn't wanna paint it. Markus ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Apr 1998 22:17:04 EDT From: F2G 2 Subject: half of you have no clue who i am. "the journey presents itself" rocks. indeed, i must say it, for it is true. the only way it could've been better is if the winnebago landed on the wicked spice of the west, or some such nonsense. or if they immediately ran into midgets aplenty........... scott. thank you for noticing my absence. to those of you who may be concerned, i've been (still) working altogether too much, trying like hell to readjust my body clock, filing taxes, flirting with danger ("hey megan." heh heh........no, i haven't been smacked for the second time.), drinking our new homebrew (mmmmm.......tastes like bass. we did good.), planning to make a honey brew, reading post-apocalyptic novels, attempting to adjust to having no id and no proof of my own existence (yes, the stolen wallet thing......), trying to get my perfect 280 plus drive back, playing a tribe season on triple play 99 for the playstation and not listening to ben folds five. nope. not at all. call it burn out, call it a protest, call it whatever you will. i'm tired of the boys. i've loved their music and them for many a year now.....ever since i was a lower case g........ and i don't like the ill-concieved and defensive line of thinking certain band members have adopted towards their strong (if somewhat fanatical) fan-base. some of you prob'ly know what i'm talking about. the restraining orders were a little much. i don't like the arena shows........nor do i think they can pull one off with much pananche. they are, and will forever in my mind be a club band. i'll be there for show #8, where they open for beck (whom i don't think can pull it off either, but that's another story.....) it just seems to me that nothing that is going to happen with them from now on will top the conBENtion we had this year. perhaps my tune will change when the new album or the 'fear of pop' project come out. we shall see........ matthew stuff in the stereo. tortoise "tnt" BUY IT, for it is the coolest shit i have heard since.........bf5's eponymous debut. the london suede "sci fi symphonies" or something like that. it's their newer double cd. bran van 3000. "glee" the verve "urban hymns" huffamoose. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Apr 1998 23:32:43 -0400 From: Amanda McClintock Subject: Hair makes the Robert Well Hannah, although I agree with you in the vain that Ben would look good with hair, I also have to give my dues to both Anne and Carrie.... I must admit that a blad Ben would definately accentuate his unbelieveable dimples.... (okay boys stop moaning!) I mean after all I will be the first to admit that Patrick Stewart is an incredibly sexy man... However I can't picture Robert with out hair... Can anyone else. I mean his locks are really a part of him :) I have my brain thinking of a good BFF story to share, can it be in the form of a screenplay?!?! Well I am off to play chandalers at the welcome home party for my pal who got back from Ireland, I am sure her tolerance is up by now!!! Take it easy all! Did anyone tape it? Would anyone be willing to work something out? I'm a very nice person, contrary to popular belief, and would be eternally grateful... >> DITTO* :) - -Lauren * except scratch out the "don't own a TV" part and insert "don't have cable" but then hey, who needs cable when you've got stories like Eric's! Man I can't wait for part two!! :) ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V1 #90 ********************************
