I listened to the radio for the first time in about half a year yesterday while driving home from work... they're playing some weird stuff now. I was listening to see if the local stations around here were cool enough to be playing SFTD, but alas, no BFF at all. When did BNL start getting airplay, though? Especially with an older song like Brian Wilson... Hannah: I'm going to the Edgefest show... but I think you already knew that. Anyone else? I'm in a nutshell!) here's what I had to say: RUSSELL CROWE: is HOT HOT HOT. I felt so dirty asking for a ticket to Virtuousity back when it came out. But it was worth it..he showed his hiney (yay! cheap thrills!). If you like him, you should also see "Proof" which is really good. and he has a new movie (that unfortunately went straight to video:() coming out with Salma Hayek called Breaking Up. L.A. CONFIDENTIAL: Should have won best picture. King of the world, my ass. (Feel lucky you were saved from my tirade about release dates and Warner Bros. marketing incompetence--it's the damn film student in me!) KIDS IN THE HALL: I had a dave foley period too. And once, when i went to taping of loveline, he was the guest:) And Brain Candy was on HBO last night! damn that movie is SO f*cked up. but ah, so brilliant. BENTENT: Larry Sanders made my whole damn week. The producers MUST have been thinking of me when they cast their celebrity guests, because not only were our boys on (ben wore RED and Darren wore the orange-RED shirt he wore at the Keenen taping i went to), Vince Vaughn was on AND David Spade was too!!! i was SO ecstatic, you just don't understand. I was hoping Ben and the boys would have a subplot, but alas..that was Vince's role for the week (but it was DAMN funny). >they have a computer system where they punch in the name of the actor >and all his movies (well the ones where he was a headliner) come up. There's a website like that, it's called the Internet Movie Database. www.imdb.com It lists EVERYTHING that anyone has done..not just starring roles. It also has crew members listed as well. it is the site i visit most frequently, i must tell you..mostly because i am a little to celebrity obsessed.... I got the new Semisonic today. haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but they premiered the video for "Closing Time" on 120 minutes on sunday and it was REALLY well done. Very cool:) So i was wondering if anyone has Dimitri From Paris' new CD Sacrebleu? and if you do, how do you feel about it. plaese share with me, i'm thinking of getting it. Ditto for the new Pulp CD. Okay, so I'll shut up for now. ~Courtney The Sultraness of Swing "I know who it was!! It was VINCE...*fucking*...VAUGHN!!!" BTW, the reason Chris Ballew from the Presidents might have gotten a wee tad bit pissed @ questions about POTUSA is that they are no more. He's probably sick of it, as he's trying to establish his own solo career. Just a guess. This weekend begins the Sinforosa "Deadly Faerie Tales" recording project, take 2, so get your checkbooks ready. Assuming we can come up w/the $ to actually burn the 1000 CDs we're planning to sell (tax refund???), we should start selling it in late June/early July. What's $10 among friends?! Anne, Carrie, Tina, Sandi, Erik, Hannah, and Emily--your copies are reserved (although some of you didn't ask me to do so:-(!!!), but the rest of you (I'm looking @ you, Eric Patton...) better start to look @ how much you have to save per month to afford the hottest upcoming release of the summer--or @ least the hottest upcoming release of the summer from Kenmore WA! So, the Bacharach thing was indeed amazing. Of course, I have my complaints- Robert's bass didn't have too much bass in it, and I think it would have sounded a lot more full if he did have more. And that rockin' tag wasn't NEAR long enough. But was I the only one that noticed Ben looks eerily like, oh, Burt's SON? I mean, those nice little fatherly smiles Burt kept flashing over at Ben just gave the whole damn thing away... Hopefully they'll put a final version of it down in the studio and release it as a b-side or something... Darren actually grinned! at one point. cheesy camera work though, with the close-ups of the bass and all. My friend and I agreed the camera(wo)man was a little confused by the lack of guitar, because Robert got almost more camera time than Ben. not that that's a *bad* thing. . . and yeah, whoever made the comment about the suits. . . Robert and Darren looked like they were dressed by Quentin Tarantino or John Woo or something. yet alarmingly cool, don't get me wrong. I kind of pissed myself off though. I caught myself thinking "I hope Ben doesn't act like that in 30 years. . ." whenever they showed Burt rocking out with himself. agh! Let's just hope Ben has money hair like that in 30 years. Then I wouldn't care if he did the "peeing in the woods" singing crouch position like Chrissie Hynde.
