(Imagine that in a Chunk voice) ><< Rob and we sit and talk for a LONG time at my dining room table >and then he paints my nails. And then I wake up. >> >Was it...Dun Dun Dun...RED nail poish!!!!!!!!!!??????????? >- -Lauren Sorry, not to hinder the "rob=red" talk, but if memory serves it was Wet 'n Wild Green # 416. Which is a color that I do indeed have in my collection, but have since stopped wearing it because it's just too drab. Though it looks quite similar to the line of men's nail polish from Urban Decay..or was it Hard Candy? Oh, you get my point. Not that I had one. >Third Place Third Eye Blind 136 votes >Fourth Place Weezer 131 votes Ack! as a long time Weezer fan, it HURTS me, right down to my bones that Third Eye Blind would get more votes. Oh the humanity!! But I suppose you guys have it lucky. The band playing here next week is Blink 182. Not that I have anything against them, but damn, i don't care. I wanted the Daddies (as in Cherry Poppin) who were supposed to come. Oh well, I suppose they're better than Green Day, who we were also supposed to get. ICK! Hmmmm...perschnapps i need some Bentent. I've been talking my dad into going to England this summer for a vacation and I saw the June 29th date BFF are playing at the Forum in London. I'm hoping to talk him into going then. I'll bet he'd even want to go to the show with me. he really likes them. Which makes me happy:) Is there anyone from across the pond on this list? I s'pose that's it for me today. ~Courtney The Sultraness of Swing "Agnes dear, what happened to you!?" With a rare exception it was an assembly line format of performers(Step up - sing your song - Next!) But the performance quality was uniformly high. I had assumed that the performers would be the stars of the show but it was made clear from the outset that the focus remained on Bacharach. I didn't even realise that he would be performing at all. But he was on stage for the whole show. The stage was filled with a large orchestra and stage band. Breaks between performers were peppered with boring, long winded stories. Who cares about horse racing! The performances: Sheryl Crow(she looked sooooo hot!) did "One Less Bell to Answer" All Saints(imagine the Spice Girls on crack)"I'll Never Fall in Love Again" Elvis Costello: Two songs, the one he wrote with Burt from the "Grace of My Heart" soundtrack and a new one from an upcoming collaborative album. Chrissy Hynde(also looked good): a medley of "Baby, it's You" and "A Message to Michael" Mike Myers: "What's New, Pussycat?"(complete with dancers in cat costumes and a surprise wardrobe change). Someone threw a pair of red panties at him! George Duke and David Sanborn: "Wives and Lovers" Ben Folds Five: "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head". All three guys in suits and ties! Robert and Darren looking like guys from Reservoir Dogs. Ben in a rust corduroy suit with black shirt and dark tie. Ben blew the lyrics. Trumpet solo at the end done by Robert on fuzz bass. Definitely the highest energy performance of the night. Ben finishes with a keyboard slam but no piano stool toss. Robert confesses his passion for Ferrante and Teischer! And then they were gone. Barenaked Ladies: "Close To You" Wynonna: "Anyone Who Ever Had A Heart" Luther Vandross: "What The World Needs Now" And as the headliner, Dionne Warwick came out and did four songs, "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?" among others. Unfortunatley, she didn't do any psychic readings. Noticed that the promoted performance by Noel Gallagher din't come off as he was a no-show. What an asshole. During the curtain call, noticed that Ben was cosying up to the blonde from All Saints. Hmmmm....start the rumor mill, please! CV P.S. Happy Birthday, Jenna Jameson! Anyone know of a site that has lyrics (actual or interpreted) to BFF demos/Majosha songs, Protection in particular. I work part-time in a law firm's I.S. dept. and the first verse (where Ben sings legal jargon) always makes me laugh ('cuz that's how the people here at work talk). The problem is that he sings so fast that I can't make out all of the terms. Thank-you in advance for any response to the aformentioned request herewithin defined. Officer Friendly's little boy... Well, it's a rainy day here in the land of cleves, and I woke up at 11 after staying up till 5 with my roommate. She wanted to do something fun. What I don't do for that girl... She's out of town till Sunday, and I just got my first paycheck from my lab. Ya know what that means, Fjordians! Cheap hookers and booze? You bet! I wish I coulda seen the boys play "Raindrops". *sigh* Did anybody else see the new Rolling Stone cover and run? I've seen that guy before and it didn't bother me, but ... geez ... Hannah is officially off my "fodder for slamming on the 'Files" list! :-) The rest of you, WATCH OUT!* See, I already have a signed and laminated BFF article up on my wall, and I got me to thinking... What if I eventually got to see Semisonic play another show and I got THEM to sign THEIR article, and I'd get IT laminated and put it up next to the other one... Then I'd have two, and they'd breed! Then I'd have a lovely collection going... I needed a hobby. Hannah rules.
