"I can't remember who it was, but you would've loved it. It was just so beautiful that I ran right out that minute and bought the CD!" Traci asked, "did it go 'she's a brick and I'm drowning slowly'?" "THAT'S IT!!!" So, Traci's mom in Johnson City, KS, is hooked on BFF!!! Just had to share:-)! Self-defecation all the way!!! On a cleaner note, I indeed got a call this morning for a *new* job!!! Unfortunately, they want me in May, and I can't get there until *the fall*...maybe a visit in *June* if *Sour Grapes* can keep her car in check... Anyhow, I just wanted to thank Marcus for all his support... Um... For any sort of relevance: I was at Hi-Fi Records on Clark yesterday, and I got some BFF vinyl along with this great Marvin Gaye record with his as a super-hero cartoon on the cover, and an Aretha Franklin album before she thought she could sing opera... And as for storming the castle, life is pain your Highness. Anyone who tells you different is trying to sell you something. Remember how a few of us wanted to get together and be able to cut loose and discuss whatever came to mind? Where openness was welcome quality? Well...... I can sense stray posts and I would like to nip it in the bud with this idea/observation: When you speak with *mystery* and *code* the *others* on the list who are out of the loop are even *more* out of the loop.... this is not conducive to open discussions.... This is still a small list. What to accomplish by using **'s is an enigma.... I think many may feel excluded from posting by using code that only some can de-code. Whats the big deal about Vegas anyway. Hey I can gamble all my money away and then go home and see that the house forclosed and I can't even aford a pack of cigarettes. Wow sounds great. In this post I am going to give reasons to come to Memphis and not Vegas so get ready. Ok Memphis Beale street Music Festival "Hey wow you can see Ben Folds Five along with: Dave Mathews, Blues Traveler, Supergrass, Aerosmith, Greenday, The Doobie Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, and about 50 other bands. That is a pretty go reason cause if you go to Vegas all you see is the Fab Five and the nice little shows around town. Reason 2: Wow you can gamble in Vegas and not Memphis---"Hmmmm let me think Memphis is close to Mississippi and also a place called Tunica. Ok so Tunica is no Vegas. But if you like gambling and just having a good time Tunica has over 15 Casinos and they are all about 15 min away from the city. Another reason might be because Memphis is closer for most of you. who the hell wants to fly all the way to Vegas. don't get me wrong Vegas is a cool place but is it going to be cool enough for the next conbention???? Hey visit my webpage http://members.tripod.com/~bffwebsite/index.html Hey if you are affended by anything I said you know what you can do with it. Anyway, I was at a BF5 concert (I don't know where) but anyway there was this guy on stage who was picking people out of the audience at random to come up on the stage and do a skit or song or whatever (don't ask me where this came from - maybe from high school). Anyway, some friends of mine and myself were up on these boxes and easily seen and we knew the guy who was calling for volunteers so he volunteered us! So we hop up on the stage (the guys had finished playing and were taking a break), and the first guy does this really lame skit and the second one (girl) sings a song - very nice - and then it's my turn. I want to play this song I wrote (back when I was 14 - it's not very good) for bass and voice, but when I pick up the bass I can't get the sound system to work coz it's really complicated, I fiddle with it for ages and the crowd is getting more and more restless but then Ben Folds comes out of the wings and saves the day for me by working out the sound system and getting the bass to work (I don't know why it was Ben when Robert is the bass player - but that's dreams for you). By this time I am so frustrated with the bloody thing I am practically crying and Ben tells me that these things happen on stage and you just have to keep on going. So anyway, I get out there in front of the lights and I play my little song and it all goes brilliantly and Ben tells me that I did well and Robert comes out from back stage and also compliments me, and the guys start playing again (with me on the wings - Darren just kind of appeared, I don't know where from!) - THEN I woke up (at 3 a.m. mind you!!) Anyone care to try to analyse this for me??? I haven't had a dream this vivid in a long time - here it is 6 hours later and I can still remember every detail! I also had another vivid dream about 6 a.m. but I can't remember the details anymore - I just woke up with a start and with my heart pounding! See ya Kate. ------------------------------ End of The Rockford Files V1 #70 ********************************
