Again i post ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sun, 22 Mar 1998 06:20:09 -0500 From: Kristin Klevering Subject: Las Vegas I think Las Vegas would be a cool place for a ConBENtion, since I plan on going. My best friend moved out there last summer, and I went to visit her there last month. If anyone remembers my post, it was where I gashed my face at a ski lodge - but the scar is healing nicely. It's good to know I won't look like a freak for the rest of my life! I talked to my friends out there about seeing BFF, and they're all for it. I am so freaking excited about going back to Las Vegas (I met a guy I like a lot who sent me a really cool mix tape last week) and seeing BFF I can hardly contain myself! Who else wants to get on the Vegas bandwagon? I'm flying out from Michigan to do this, and want to get in touch with others who are going to the show. My friends aren't fans, but they will be after they see the band live. But I would like to know of any of you who are going so you can join with me in my hypomanic state as I prepare to see the band live again! I still can't believe that our boys are playing at the Hard Rock Cafe! I remember when I was there looking at the marquee and imagining how cool it would be if Ben Folds Five was up there, instead of Aerosmith! Now I get the chance to see it for myself! I can't wait until May 8! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Mar 1998 07:49:47 -0800 (PST) From: Jon Richards Subject: Ben's Spit Would kick Ok ok so mabey I go to the extreme alittle bit. But you have seen the band live in concert and I have not so it is going to be much more exciting for you than me. I mean it is only going to be like my 5 concert to go to so just going to a concert for me is exciting. Truth be know if I had some of bens spit I would probably swallow it. non jk. Well Got to go post later Jon Richards _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? To htese people, I say come. I mean, it's a great city. Ani DiFranco loves Ann Arbor. Counting Crows loves Ann Arbor. George Clinton, Cheech & Chong, Wynton Marsalis, and Tori Amos all love Ann Arbor. And we love them. The reason for this diatribe is that this town loves Ben Folds Five, but we get no love from them. I mean, I've heard the whole album being played in just about every coffee house in the place, All of their CDs can be found in every record store, and they we're even giving out the "Some B sides" tape at one of them. I am now in proud possession of the Japanese version of SfTD. I happy. Okane o kaite, you bitch. ;) Laters all! Yes - I used to belong to the (gasp! shock! horror!) armchair but I got sick of all of the in-fighting (usually about stuff I didn't understand coz I am from Australia and I have no idea what Dawson's Beach - or whatever it was- is). Anyway, I note that there seems to be a call for favourite CD's (I don't have a stacker so I will just have to give you my five favourites) 5 Aussie favourites:- Custard - Weisenheimer Powderfinger - Double Allergic Taxi - Petty Hate Scene (actually it's an EP) The Whitlams - Eternal Nightcap Webster - Walk it like ya talk it (another EP) 5 for the non-Aussies:- Enya - greatest hits BFF (of course) - NBP Julianna Hatfield 3 - (I have no idea what the CD is called - - it's an old one) Cake - (also no idea what it's called - I taped it off someone else) Retro - an 80's mix (yes - I too have my nostalgic days) So - do your worst - tell me my taste is in my ........ - I have a very varied taste in music which ranges from classical to heavy rock to hard techno. The above selection is just my favs at the moment (although the Aussie top 5 has been the same for a couple of months). At least I am not into the Backstreet Boys or something like that!!! See ya Kate. PS - I was 16 in 1988 - so I am allowed to have my nostalgic days over 80's retro - anyway that's my excuse and I am sticking to it! But that is just a rumor so I don't know for sure. I want to know who made those cool ass pins for ConBENtion 98. Those are really cool. Ok I need some answers from you guys out there. The questions are BFF related and need the answers for my webpage. 1. What are the guys birthdays and include the year? 2. When did the band start and how did they get together? 3. What are their home towns? I don't think they are all from Chapel Hill. 4. What are their Middle names? Darren's is Micheal. 5. I need info on the charts. Like what day was Brick the highest on the chart? The same thing for the albums and other songs. Ok thats about it for the questions. Umm oh ya May 3 is when the five play which is a Sunday ( I said it was Friday 2 days ago.). Hope some of ya'll can make it.
